About Just King
Just King places you on a throne of a broken world, tasking you with gathering four heroes from a roster of thirty‑three and positioning them for combat. Battles run automatically, letting you focus on tactical placement while the heroes fight on their own.
Beyond the fights, the game offers role‑play scenes, a soundtrack by the bard Tad, and full controller support for a single‑player experience on Windows. Zones, bosses, an endless mode, and loot systems give multiple ways to extend play.
01 / THE GUIDE
Action Autobattler
Combat proceeds without manual attacks; the heroes act automatically once the battle starts. Your only input is where each hero stands on the battlefield, which influences how they engage enemies and trigger abilities.
Because positioning is the sole player control, you can watch the heroes interact and adjust formations between waves to respond to enemy patterns and zone mechanics.
- Try moving a melee hero closer to the front line to see if it changes enemy focus.
- Observe whether a ranged hero placed near the edge gains more attack opportunities.
02 / THE GUIDE
Hero Assembly
You select four heroes from a pool of thirty‑three distinct characters, each described as having a unique playstyle. Leveling these heroes unlocks new abilities that expand tactical options.
Matching synergies between the chosen heroes is part of the design, encouraging builds where abilities complement one another rather than operate in isolation.
- Group heroes whose abilities reference similar elements or roles to test synergy.
- Balance a mix of close‑range and long‑range heroes for flexible positioning.

Loot and Items
Defeating enemies provides rewards that can be spent to upgrade heroes or purchase legendary items. Keeping heroes equipped helps them stay ahead of tougher foes later in the game.
Legendary items are obtained through this loot system and are described as powerful upgrades that can change a hero’s performance in subsequent zones.
- After each zone, check the loot screen for any legendary items before spending other resources.
- Prioritize upgrades that enhance the abilities you use most often.
04 / THE GUIDE
Boss Battles
Each zone ends with a fight against the realm’s regent, presented as an epic combat test for your party’s strength and your positioning strategy.
Success against a regent often requires fine‑tuning hero placement and using unlocked abilities, making these encounters a clear measure of tactical depth.
- Watch the regent’s attack pattern for one full cycle before committing to a formation.
- Place heroes with crowd‑control abilities where they can affect multiple enemies at once.
05 / THE GUIDE
Endless Mode
Beyond the structured zones, Endless Mode lets you run through all areas with a scaling difficulty curve, increasing the challenge as you progress.
The mode is intended for players who want a longer, continuously demanding experience after completing the main zones.
- Start with a moderate difficulty and add modifiers gradually to gauge how your party scales.
- Monitor hero level and equipment upgrades to ensure they keep pace with rising difficulty.
