About Just A Humble Swordsmith
Just A Humble Swordsmith puts you in the role of a blacksmith stationed beside a monster‑filled cave. You meet a roster of brave (and sometimes reckless) adventurers, forge them a wide range of swords, and watch the heroes charge into the darkness.
The game focuses on strategy rather than direct combat: swords are crafted from fantastical materials, each adventurer brings unique stats and talents, and battles play out automatically. Progress is marked by boss encounters and new crafting options, all presented with colorful 16‑bit sprites and lively music.
01 / THE GUIDE
Sword Crafting
You combine fantastical materials to create swords in many styles, producing a huge number of possible combinations. Different materials can be combined into many sword styles, letting you experiment with different builds.
New crafting options appear at checkpoints, expanding the pool of materials and designs you can use. This encourages trying fresh recipes and adapting to each adventurer’s unique talents.
- Mix different materials early to see how they shape your swords.
- Compare similar recipes to spot subtle advantages.

Adventurer Auto‑Combat
Adventurers fight completely automatically once you send them into the cave, allowing you to concentrate on sword design. Their named stats and talents shape how well they handle each encounter without further input.
Because combat runs on its own, you can observe which sword builds work best for each adventurer and adjust future crafting accordingly.
- Watch the fights to notice which sword traits complement an adventurer’s talent.
- Use automatic battles to test multiple sword designs quickly.

Dungeon Progression
The cave is divided into diverse sections with new monsters, backdrops, and challenging boss battles. New crafting options are collected at each checkpoint as you progress.
Progress is measured by how far your equipped adventurers travel, giving a clear sense of advancement as you encounter fresh enemies and environments.
- Clear each checkpoint before upgrading to a new sword style.
- Take note of boss patterns to tailor your next sword’s strengths.

Retro Visuals & Music
The game adopts a retro 16‑bit inspired aesthetic, featuring colorful sprites that bring each monster and adventurer to life. Lively music accompanies the action, reinforcing the nostalgic feel.
These artistic choices create a vibrant atmosphere that complements the strategic focus, making each dungeon run visually distinct and audibly engaging.
- Enjoy the soundtrack while experimenting with sword designs for a relaxed experience.
- Observe sprite details for visual cues about enemy types.
