About Interior Worlds
Interior Worlds is an ambient first‑person exploration game that places you in empty lots, blackened buildings and dimly lit hallways. Ten hand‑crafted locations—including a roadside hotel, an empty movie theater and a dying mall—are rendered in a late‑90s/early‑00s graphic style.
The core mechanic is a vintage analog SLR camera. You adjust zoom, focus and tilt to photograph environmental anomalies, while interacting with objects and listening to a low‑drone soundscape that reinforces the unsettling atmosphere.

Exploration & Environments
The game presents a series of strange yet familiar spaces described as empty lots, blackened buildings and dimly lit hallways. Ten unique thresholds such as a roadside hotel, an empty movie theater and a dying mall are hand‑crafted to evoke a liminal feeling.
Each location is designed for deliberate pacing, encouraging you to notice subtle visual details that become subjects for photography. The environments act as both backdrop and source of the anomalies you aim to capture.
- Move slowly and scan each corner; the design rewards careful observation.
- Compare the mood of different locations to see how each contributes to the overall atmosphere.

Analog Camera Mechanics
Players use a vintage analog SLR camera to capture photographs of environmental anomalies. The camera offers adjustable zoom levels, focus changes, and the ability to tilt left or right for a Dutch angle, providing many compositional possibilities.
Every shot is added to an in‑game catalog that timestamps the image and applies subtle pre‑filters, creating a curated collection of liminal photographs that reflect the game's aesthetic.
- Experiment with zoom and focus to highlight different aspects of an anomaly.
- Use the Dutch angle tilt to add tension or disorientation to a shot.

Environmental Interactivity
Beyond photography, players can activate objects such as vending machines, phones, sinks, televisions and lights. These interactions change the visual state of a scene, offering new photo‑moment vibes.
Turning lights on or off, for example, shifts shadows and highlights different details, directly influencing the mood of your captured image.
- Toggle lights before shooting to see how shadows affect your composition.
- Interact with multiple objects in a single area to discover varied visual outcomes.

Audio Atmosphere
Interior Worlds features an immersive soundscape built from low, rumbling drones and soft, stretched pads. This audio backdrop reinforces the unsettling feeling as you move through each location.
The continuous sound design provides a consistent sense of unease without abrupt cues, allowing players to focus on visual discovery and photography.
- Listen for subtle changes in the drone to sense transitions between areas.
- Use headphones to fully experience the layered pads and ambient texture.
