About Initial Drift Online
Initial Drift Online lets players drift across three iconic Japanese mountain passes—Irohazaka, Haruna, and Akagi—while competing in real‑time multiplayer battles. The game blends racing, delivery missions, and a global ranking system, offering a semi‑open world that can be entered instantly via a server.
Players earn money and experience by completing deliveries, buying and customizing cars, and setting record times. A day/night cycle, selectable music playlists, and multiple camera angles add atmosphere, while full controller support and Steam features round out the experience.

World Locations
The game’s map consists of three legendary routes: the road to Irohazaka, Mt. Haruna, and Mt. Akagi. Each location provides distinct uphill and downhill sections for drift battles.
A day/night cycle runs on each server, altering the visual mood of the passes. This dynamic lighting influences the overall feel but does not change gameplay mechanics.
- Try drifting during both day and night to appreciate the atmospheric shift.
- Explore each location to find the best lines for record attempts.

Delivery System
Players earn money and experience by making deliveries across the mountain routes. Successful deliveries contribute to progression and allow purchases of new vehicles.
Delivery runs are open to all players on a server and do not require separate matchmaking. Earnings are added directly to the player’s account for use in the dealership.
- Focus on completing deliveries early to build a cash reserve.
- Balance delivery runs with drift battles to maximize experience gain.

Vehicle Customization
New cars can be bought at the Irohazaka dealership using earned money. Once purchased, vehicles can be modified in the garage, allowing visual and performance tweaks.
Customization does not affect the core drift physics, which remain realistic yet dynamic. Players can personalize their ride without needing additional DLC.
- Upgrade handling components to improve drift stability.
- Experiment with visual styles to stand out in multiplayer races.

Music & Atmosphere
Two music playlists—Eurobeat and Phonk—are available, letting players choose a soundtrack that matches their drifting style. The selection is made in‑game and does not require external files.
The day/night cycle on each server further changes the ambiance, providing a fresh visual experience each time a server is joined.
- Switch playlists to match the intensity of a race.
- Play during night cycles for a more dramatic drift backdrop.

Camera & View Options
Players can select from several camera angles, including first‑person and third‑person perspectives. The choice is made in the settings menu and applies instantly.
These view options are independent of controller support and work with any input method, giving flexibility for personal comfort while drifting.
- Use first‑person view for immersive drifting.
- Switch to third‑person when navigating tight mountain turns.
