About InfraSpace
InfraSpace puts you in charge of a fledgling colony on the edge of human space. You start with astronaut colonists who must mine raw iron, carbon, sand and sulfur before any factories can be built, creating the first production chain.
The game focuses on transport, traffic flow and population management. Roads, rails, pipes and cargo lifts move resources, while growing numbers of scientists, engineers and families need housing, schools and VR‑edutainment, all leading toward a terraforming objective.
01 / THE GUIDE
Resource Extraction
Astronauts are assigned to mining sites to obtain the raw minerals mentioned: iron, carbon, sand and sulfur. These four materials are the only inputs described for constructing later production facilities such as steel mills and concrete factories.
Because every later building depends on those basics, a continuous output from each mine is required. Any interruption in the mining chain will halt the creation of food, oxygen or infrastructure, directly affecting colony survival.
- Watch each mine’s output and reassign astronauts before a shortage appears.
- Balance the number of workers on each mineral to avoid a single‑resource bottleneck.

Transport Infrastructure
Every produced resource must travel to a processing factory, and every finished product must reach a habitat. The description emphasizes that the game simulates each individual car, so road design directly influences traffic flow and delivery times.
Beyond roads, the game offers rails, underground pipes and cargo lifts for specific cargo types or terrain. Rails move large quantities, pipes handle liquids and gases, and lifts allow transport over rugged heights, each providing a distinct logistical option.
- Use roundabouts where multiple roads intersect to keep cars moving.
- Match cargo type to transport mode—pipes for gases, rails for bulk solids.

Population Growth
The first colonists are astronauts who need food and shelter to keep the outpost operating. As the settlement expands, you will employ scientists and engineers, which adds a requirement for additional comforts.
Further growth introduces families, requiring schools and VR‑edutainment products. Supplying these services ensures a stable workforce and prevents shortages that could disrupt production or transport chains.
- Place housing near food production to shorten delivery routes.
- Add schools early so they can accommodate incoming families.

Terraforming Goal
The ultimate aim is to turn the desert planet green and breathable. The description calls this a “huge undertaking” that consumes a colossal amount of resources, implying a large, sustained production effort.
By the time terraforming begins, you will have built the necessary technology, infrastructure and manpower. This suggests that the same extraction, processing and transport systems are used, but at a significantly larger scale.
- Begin stockpiling steel and concrete well before you start terraforming.
- Maintain a surplus of liquids and gases to support atmospheric changes.

Difficulty Adjustments
Both traffic management and survival difficulty can be tuned, allowing players to make the city‑management experience easier or harder. The description notes you can adjust the difficulties of both traffic management and survival to make the experience as easy or as hard as you want.
Adjustable difficulty lets you experiment with different strategies, from relaxed building to intensive optimization, giving flexibility for learning or for seeking a tougher logistical puzzle.
- Start on an easier setting to learn basic road and rail layouts.
- Increase difficulty gradually once you are comfortable with traffic flow.
