About Infinifactory
Infinifactory is a sandbox puzzle title from Zachtronics that lets players design factories in a first‑person, fully three‑dimensional space. Factories are built from blocks that can move, rotate, and combine items to produce the products demanded by alien overseers.
The game offers a story‑driven campaign of more than fifty puzzles, a free‑form sandbox that pushes the block engine, and Steam Workshop integration for community‑made levels. Steam features such as achievements, leaderboards, cloud saves, and family sharing are also included.
01 / THE GUIDE
3D Factory Building
Factories are assembled by placing and configuring blocks in a first‑person, fully 3D environment. The block system lets players move and rotate components, creating conveyor paths that transport items toward the required product.
Because the view can be rotated freely, designers can inspect hard‑to‑reach sections and adjust block orientation for smoother flow. This spatial flexibility is central to solving the increasingly complex puzzles presented in the campaign.
- Rotate the camera to examine conveyor intersections from multiple angles.
- Test alternative block orientations to see how they affect item movement.

Story‑Driven Campaign
The campaign presents over fifty puzzles set in exotic alien locales, with audio logs that add narrative context. Progression introduces new block interactions and layout challenges as the story advances.
Each puzzle requires a distinct solution, encouraging players to adapt their designs to new constraints revealed by the audio logs and visual environment.
- Listen to audio logs for narrative context that may inform your designs.
- Track recurring block patterns to reuse effective solutions in later levels.

Optimization and Histograms
After a puzzle is completed, the game displays histograms that compare the player's solution to others. These visual metrics highlight differences in speed, block count, and other performance factors.
The histograms encourage players to revisit factories and refine designs, with scores reflected on Steam Leaderboards for competitive comparison.
- Identify bottlenecks shown in the histogram and experiment with faster conveyor routes.
- Aim for incremental improvements; small reductions in block count can shift leaderboard positions.

Sandbox Block Engine
Beyond the campaign, a sandbox mode lets players create factories without preset objectives, using the same next‑generation block engine. Blocks retain their ability to move and rotate, supporting limitless configurations.
This open mode serves as a testing ground for experimental mechanisms and allows players to explore designs that may be too complex for the structured puzzles.
- Use the sandbox to prototype intricate conveyor networks before applying them to campaign levels.
- Save multiple design versions to compare how changes affect performance.

Steam Workshop Integration
Infinifactory includes full Steam Workshop support, enabling players to create, share, and play custom puzzles. Community‑made levels extend the game's replayability beyond the official content.
Workshop content can be downloaded and examined, offering insight into alternative design approaches and fostering a collaborative puzzle‑building community.
- Browse highly rated workshop puzzles to encounter new design challenges.
- Provide clear instructions when uploading your own puzzles to encourage constructive feedback.
