About Inferno Protocol

Inferno Protocol drops you into a shifting maze where corridors never stay the same and maps are unreliable. You must mark walls, harvest hostile remains, and use mysterious injectors to survive. The game supports solo play or up to six players in online co‑op, letting you explore together.

Beyond the ever‑changing tunnels lies a central settlement where you can farm, build walls, and craft items from scarce scrap. Resources are limited, so memory and careful marking become your primary navigation tools as you search for exits and hidden supplies.

01 / THE GUIDE

Maze Navigation

The maze constantly rearranges; corridors you entered will not lead back the same way. Players are encouraged to spray walls, drop chalk, and leave objects as markers. Old hand‑drawn paper maps appear, but some are deceptive, requiring you to decide which are trustworthy. Memory replaces traditional maps, and a compass offers temporary aid before it too becomes unreliable. The environment can shift from forests to deserts, adding visual variety to the disorienting layout.

  • Use multiple marking methods to avoid relying on a single visual cue.
  • Compare new maps with existing marks before trusting them.

02 / THE GUIDE

Resource Harvesting

When you defeat a creature, you can harvest its bones, armor, flesh, and organs. These materials are grim but essential, as scrap metal and frayed wires are scarce. Harvested parts feed into crafting and settlement building. Traps can be found or crafted, then placed in corridors to leverage the maze’s own changes against threats. The deeper you venture, the more you’ll need to rely on these gathered resources.

  • Prioritize harvesting unique parts for diverse crafting options.
  • Place traps in high‑traffic corridors to maximize their effect.

03 / THE GUIDE

Settlement Building

At the maze’s center lies a settlement where players can farm, construct walls, and craft needed items. Smaller camps exist in outer corridors, offering trade or conversation opportunities. The settlement serves as a hub for resource processing and safe rest. Building walls and farming within the settlement provide a stable base amid the chaotic maze, allowing you to store harvested materials and prepare for deeper exploration.

  • Focus early construction on defensive walls to protect against wandering threats.
  • Farm near the settlement to reduce travel time for supplies.

04 / THE GUIDE

Injectors

Injectors are scattered throughout the maze, some labeled with effects like dash, rage, night vision, double jump, or extra health. Unlabeled injectors also appear, encouraging experimentation as you progress deeper. These items can alter your abilities temporarily. The deeper you go, the more reliance on injectors becomes necessary, making their discovery a key survival strategy. Some injectors may rewrite you, hinting at unpredictable outcomes.

  • Test unlabeled injectors in safe areas before using them in combat.
  • Track which labeled injectors you have used to avoid redundancy.

05 / THE GUIDE

Multiplayer Co‑op

Inferno Protocol supports online co‑op for up to six players, allowing groups to explore the maze together. Cooperation can involve sharing marks, trading resources, or jointly defending the settlement. Players may encounter NPC‑like camps that trade or simply observe. Co‑op does not change the maze’s mechanics; the environment remains hostile and shifting regardless of player count, keeping the challenge consistent across solo and group play.

  • Coordinate marking strategies to keep the group oriented.
  • Share harvested resources to accelerate settlement upgrades.
