About Ile d'Or

Ile d'Or is a maritime trading simulation where you build wealth by buying specialty goods in one port and selling them where demand is high. Your growing fortune lets you recruit companions, expand your fleet, and take on hostile fortresses.

You can also launch land expeditions to gather ship‑building materials, report discovered treasures for Influence, and invest in port towns. The ultimate goal is to dominate the seas and earn the favor of each nation.

01 / THE GUIDE

Captain Registry

The game begins with a Captain Registry where you select a name, faction name, occupation, appearance, and colors. This initial setup defines your personal identity in the world.

Choosing a faction from the nine available influences the story and alters relationships with other factions, affecting how events unfold as you progress.

  • Experiment with different appearances to personalize your experience.
  • Consider how faction choice might shape narrative interactions.

02 / THE GUIDE

Trade

Trade revolves around buying local specialty goods and selling them in towns that lack those items. Prices rise for goods in high demand, allowing you to earn silver.

Strategic routing between ports maximizes profit, as you can target towns with specific shortages to fetch higher prices for your cargo.

  • Track which towns lack certain specialties before setting sail.
  • Focus on high‑demand goods to increase silver earnings.

03 / THE GUIDE

Battle & Bounties

Combat lets you fight hostile factions and claim bounties. Victories yield ship parts, equipment, and clues to exploration sites, supporting further expansion.

Engaging enemies is essential for acquiring the resources needed to construct more powerful vessels, linking battle success to shipbuilding progress.

  • Prioritize battles that reward useful ship parts.
  • Use bounty clues to plan future expeditions.

04 / THE GUIDE

Shipbuilding

Shipbuilding consumes large amounts of materials, which you gather through land expeditions or by converting trade goods. Building stronger ships is necessary to confront powerful enemies.

Balancing material collection with ship construction ensures you can continuously upgrade your fleet without depleting essential resources.

  • Convert excess trade goods into building materials when possible.
  • Plan expeditions that target specific ship‑building resources.

05 / THE GUIDE

Expeditions & Influence

Expeditions serve two purposes: gathering materials for shipbuilding and uncovering clues to hidden treasure. Reporting discovered treasures to the Governor's Office grants Influence and gold.

Influence with each nation grows as you submit reports, shaping your standing and opening new opportunities within the game world.

  • Document treasure locations carefully for later reporting.
  • Target expeditions that align with material needs for shipbuilding.
