About If My Heart Had Wings -Flight Diary-
If My Heart Had Wings – Flight Diary – is a fan‑disc sequel that offers six self‑contained stories, including a prologue and an epilogue that frame the original narrative. Each story is chosen from the startup screen and plays linearly without branching routes.
All stories are set in the breezy town of Kazegaura, where friends gather on a wind‑mill‑lined hill to soar on wings into which they've poured their hopes and wishes. The shared goal of reaching higher skies underlies each tale’s focus on hope and personal resolve.

Standalone Stories
The game provides six distinct stories that are accessed individually from the startup menu. Because there are no common routes, each story begins and ends on its own, delivering a straightforward linear experience each time it is played.
Since the narratives are independent, players can approach them in any order without needing information from another story. This design lets the focus remain on the characters and events presented within each isolated segment.
- Choose any story first; the order does not affect the content you will see.
- After finishing a story, return to the menu to explore another without concern for missed connections.
02 / THE GUIDE
Kazegaura Town
Every story takes place in Kazegaura, described as a “lovely little town where the wind blows pleasantly.” The central visual is a hill lined with windmills where the characters wait for the wind before launching their gliders.
The calm, breezy atmosphere of Kazegaura reinforces the series’ emphasis on flight. The setting repeatedly appears as a backdrop for the characters’ attempts to reach the “highest point in the sky possible.”
- Notice how windmills are referenced each time a launch is prepared.
- Observe the contrast between the town’s peaceful setting and the characters’ soaring ambitions.

Aoi Minase and Friends
Aoi Minase appears as the central male figure who, together with his friends, prepares to launch from the hill. In the epilogue he decides to quit the club after summer, creating a pivotal moment for the Soaring Club.
Supporting characters receive their own story focus: Kotori deals with anxiety, Amane reflects on fulfilled dreams, Hotaru feels responsibility after an accident, and Kanako experiences an unexpected night with Aoi. Each narrative explores a distinct personal challenge.
- Pay attention to how each character’s emotional state is described within their story.
- Compare the way anxiety and responsibility are portrayed across different characters.

Themes of Flight and Hope
The metaphor of wings recurs throughout the game, representing each character’s hopes, wishes, and the idea of a “next sky.” The prologue mentions “the wings of dreams fly on a new wind,” while the epilogue speaks of “courage to spread their wings.”
These motifs link the literal act of gliding with internal struggles such as anxiety or regret. The characters’ attempts to soar become a narrative device for personal growth and overcoming obstacles.
- Notice the repeated phrase “next sky” as a symbol of forward movement.
- Observe how literal glider flights mirror the characters’ emotional journeys.
