About Hyper Chess

Hyper Chess reimagines classic chess by removing the turn‑by‑turn pause. Both players act at the same moment, turning each duel into a rapid exchange where speed and foresight matter equally.

Each move drains mana while mana refills each second, allowing brief bursts of aggression or slower, piece‑by‑piece play. Matches can finish in ten seconds or stretch to ten minutes, and players can collect over a dozen visual Chess Sets while competing locally or online.

01 / THE GUIDE

Simultaneous Turns

Both participants move at the same time, eliminating the traditional back‑and‑forth of turn‑based chess. This forces each player to predict the opponent’s action before committing a piece.

Because actions resolve together, a mis‑step can be instantly countered, making every decision carry immediate consequences and rewarding quick, accurate judgment.

  • Watch opponent timing patterns to improve prediction.
  • Practice short bursts of moves to become comfortable with the simultaneous flow.

02 / THE GUIDE

Mana Mechanics

Every piece movement costs mana, while mana regenerates continuously each second. This creates a loop where aggressive bursts drain the resource quickly, and slower play lets it recover.

Players may save mana to launch a four‑pronged assault, or they can spend it piece by piece to maintain pressure, balancing resource management with tactical choices.

  • Hold back mana for a coordinated multi‑piece push.
  • Use slower moves when you need to rebuild mana before a decisive attack.

Match Duration

A single match can last anywhere between 10 seconds and 10 minutes, depending on how quickly players move pieces and how they manage mana.

The wide time range lets the game fit brief quick‑play sessions or longer strategic bouts, giving flexibility to match the player’s available time.

  • Set a personal timer to guide pacing.
  • Adjust mana spending to influence how long a game runs.

Collecting different sets provides visual variety for the board and pieces, letting players personalize how the game looks.

Multiplayer Options

The title supports both local and online multiplayer, letting two opponents face off on the same screen or over the internet.

Features such as Shared/Split Screen PvP and Remote Play Together expand how friends can compete together, whether side‑by‑side or remotely.

  • Try split‑screen for quick couch matches.
  • Test online play to gauge latency effects on simultaneous moves.
