About HUMANKIND

HUMANKIND™ is a historical strategy title that lets you rewrite humanity’s story by merging up to 60 real‑world cultures. You guide a tribe from the Neolithic era through successive ages, adding each culture’s special gameplay layer as you progress.

Victory is measured by fame, which grows from deeds, moral choices, scientific breakthroughs and battles on land, sea and air. The game offers single‑player, multiplayer and online PvP, and includes a level editor for custom scenarios.

01 / THE GUIDE

Culture Combination

Players can blend up to 60 historically authentic cultures, each contributing a distinct gameplay layer. This system lets you transition from a Neolithic tribe to cultures such as Babylonian, Mayan, Umayyad or British, shaping each era with new abilities.

Because each culture adds its own mechanics, the combination creates many possible outcomes. The interaction of cultural layers influences research, events and combat, encouraging players to consider how different traditions will affect their long‑term strategy.

  • Try pairing cultures with contrasting strengths to see how their layers interact.
  • Look ahead to upcoming historical events and choose cultures whose abilities complement them.

02 / THE GUIDE

Fame Victory Condition

Fame is a new and unifying victory condition; the player with the most fame at the end of the game wins. Fame is earned through great deeds, moral decisions, scientific breakthroughs and victorious battles.

Since fame can be generated from many sources, players may focus on military conquest, cultural achievements, or diplomatic actions. The flexible scoring encourages varied playstyles to outpace opponents.

  • Balance combat successes with cultural projects to diversify fame income.
  • Monitor fame changes after major events to identify which actions are most rewarding.

03 / THE GUIDE

Tactical Battles

Combat unfolds as turn‑based board‑game style encounters on the world map, covering land, sea and air. Units include emblematic culture troops and special abilities, and players can construct siege weapons to capture cities.

Battles may span multiple turns, allowing reinforcements and strategic positioning. The system emphasizes unit placement and timing over sheer numbers, rewarding careful planning.

  • Deploy siege weapons early to weaken fortified cities before committing main forces.
  • Plan reinforcements ahead of multi‑turn engagements to maintain pressure.

04 / THE GUIDE

Leader Customization

Players create an avatar that serves as the civilization’s leader. The avatar evolves visually as the society advances, reflecting the civilization’s development over time.

A meta‑progression system lets you level up the leader, unlocking additional visual options that can be displayed in multiplayer matches for personal expression.

  • Observe the avatar’s visual changes to gauge how far your civilization has progressed.
  • Use unlocked looks in multiplayer to compare progression with other players.
