About Horse Racing Manager
Horse Racing Manager is a management simulation that lets you build a racing empire from a modest start to world‑class status. You can begin as an unemployed manager or jockey, work for an existing stable, or jump straight into ownership on day one, shaping every decision along the way.
The game features a full horse market, a genetics‑driven breeding system, race simulation with an optional Jockey Mode, staff hiring, facility upgrades, and a family legacy that spans generations. It runs on Windows and macOS in single‑player mode.

Career Path
You start either unemployed or as a jockey and can hire with an existing stable to learn the ropes. Earnings, reputation and contacts let you eventually open your own stable and control all aspects of its operation.
If you prefer to avoid the early climb, the game lets you begin directly as an owner, giving immediate control over a stable’s horses, staff and facilities from day one.
- Try a short stint as a hired jockey to gauge income before opening a stable.
- Compare early cash flow between hired and owner starts to see which fits your goals.

Auctions & Trading
A full market system lets you buy and sell horses, with auctions covering every tier. You can bid against rival stables, hunt for underpriced talent, or arrange private deals for horses that are not on auction.
Strategic purchases can improve race performance or provide breeding stock, while selling can generate cash for facility upgrades or staff hires.
- Watch lower‑tier auctions for hidden gems before they rise in price.
- Use private deals when you need a specific horse for a breeding plan.

Pseudo‑DNA Breeding
Each horse carries a unique genetic profile that includes speed, stamina, acceleration, temperament, soundness and many other traits. These traits are passed from both parents through dominant and recessive genes.
By reading pedigrees and matching complementary dominant traits, you can stack strengths, while avoiding pairings that stack the same weaknesses.
- Pair horses with complementary dominant traits to boost overall ability.
- Track recessive genes to prevent stacking the same weakness.

Race Experience
Races occur on varied tracks and surfaces, from local meets to major international events. You may simply watch the simulation or enter Jockey Mode to ride the race yourself, managing position and timing.
Success depends on preparation, training and tactics, rewarding players who understand each horse’s limits and know when to push or hold back.
- Observe a horse’s early race behavior to fine‑tune its training plan.
- Try both watching and riding to learn optimal timing for each track.

Facility & Staff Management
You can construct and upgrade specialised facilities, each influencing training, horse development, staff performance and race results. A well‑built base helps turn average runners into serious contenders.
Hiring jockeys, trainers, veterinarians and support staff lets you shape daily operations; good staff turn potential into wins while poor staff can hinder performance.
- Prioritise trainer hires before expanding facilities for quicker performance gains.
- Adjust feeding plans and conditioning routines to get horses in shape before big races.
