About HoloTrials: Case Covered
In HoloTrials: Case Covered you play as Amelia Watson, a detective at HoloHigh, tasked with proving Gawr Gura’s innocence after the school pool is vandalized. The game mixes side‑scroll campus travel with first‑person clue inspection, leading to a courtroom showdown.
It is a free‑to‑play single‑player adventure that runs on Windows and macOS, supports full controller, keyboard‑only, mouse‑only and touch‑only inputs, and offers save‑anytime and Steam Cloud features.
01 / THE GUIDE
Investigation Mode
Navigate HoloHigh’s classrooms, pool and student council room in a side‑scroll view. When you reach a highlighted spot the view switches to first‑person, letting you examine objects and surroundings for evidence.
Collected clues are stored for later use in the trial. The investigation is divided into two days, each containing its own set of locations and interview opportunities.
- Mark each hotspot on a quick sketch to avoid unnecessary backtracking.
- Re‑visit earlier locations after new dialogue to see if additional clues appear.
02 / THE GUIDE
Trial Section
After gathering evidence you enter a courtroom where witnesses testify. You can cross‑examine them and press for more details, using the clues you found.
When you locate a contradiction, you present the corresponding evidence to invalidate the false statement. The trial also occurs over two days, matching the investigation split.
- Focus on contradictions that directly involve the pool graffiti.
- Keep a list of which evidence counters which witness for quick reference.

Character Interaction
Interview the reimagined HoloMyth and HoloCouncil/Promise talents, now presented as students. Each character features hand‑crafted, lineless animations that convey personality during dialogue.
Dialogue lets you probe alibis and motives; success depends on logical deduction from the information provided rather than hidden abilities.
- Listen for repeated phrases; they often hint at concealed details.
- Observe animation cues for subtle hints about honesty.

Progress can be saved at any time and synced via Steam Cloud. Family Sharing is also enabled as a listed feature.
- Try the touch‑only mode if you prefer point‑and‑click navigation.
- Enable Steam Cloud before switching devices to retain your progress.

Audio Customisation
Custom Volume Controls let you adjust the game’s volume, while stereo sound provides clear separation of courtroom speech and ambient campus noises.
You can revisit these settings whenever you play to keep your preferred balance.
- Lower music volume during trials to focus on witness statements.
- Raise dialogue volume if subtle clue hints are missed.
