About Hitman: Blood Money
Hitman: Blood Money follows Agent 47 as he travels to America after a series of ICA assassinations. A larger agency appears to be targeting the ICA, prompting 47 to investigate and eliminate threats.
The game adds a “Blood Money” system that rewards cleaner hits with more cash, which can be spent on bribes, weapon upgrades, specialist equipment, and information. New movement, AI, and a refreshed engine make the world more interactive and visually detailed.
01 / THE GUIDE
Blood Money System
The Blood Money system ties payout to the cleanliness of each hit; cleaner executions generate higher amounts of cash. This money can be allocated to bribing witnesses and police, which reduces the player’s notoriety level.
Funds may also be spent on weapon customisation, specialist equipment, and information that can affect later contracts. The system therefore encourages players to plan hits that minimise chaos while balancing financial needs.
- Track cleanliness scores after each hit to see how payouts vary.
- Allocate early funds to bribes if you anticipate high‑notoriety missions.

Weapon Customisation
Weapons can be modified in several parameters, including sound, recoil, rate of fire, damage, reload speed, accuracy, and zoom. These adjustments are made to Agent 47's custom weapons in a variety of ways.
Each change influences how the weapon behaves in future contracts, allowing players to tailor firearms to personal preferences or mission requirements before the next assignment begins.
- Experiment with one parameter at a time to notice its effect.
- Consider the mission’s typical engagement distance when adjusting zoom.

New Movement Tools
Agent 47 now moves independently of the camera, enabling climbing, hiding, scaling ledges, and automatically passing low obstacles. These moves expand traversal options within mission environments.
The added abilities integrate with existing stealth mechanics, offering alternative routes and escape methods that can be used to approach or exit contracts more creatively.
- Use climbing to reach elevated positions that provide new sightlines.
- Practice scaling ledges to discover hidden entry points.

Improved AI Behaviour
Guards now follow blood trails, investigate suspicious items, and react to unusual behaviour. The pathfinder engine enhances tracking and movement, producing more realistic enemy interactions.
These AI upgrades require careful planning, as leaving evidence or causing disturbances can trigger investigations that alter guard patrols and increase difficulty.
- Avoid leaving blood to prevent guard tracking.
- Dispose of bodies discreetly to reduce suspicion.

Audio‑Visual Enhancements
A new engine delivers higher visual fidelity and more interactive environments, while BAFTA‑winning composer Jesper Kyd provides the soundtrack. The combined upgrades create a more immersive assassin experience.
Improved graphics and sound design contribute to clearer feedback during stealth actions and reinforce atmospheric storytelling throughout each contract.
- Listen for audio cues that signal guard awareness.
- Observe environmental details that may aid in planning.
