About Hidden Cats in Rome
Hidden Cats in Rome lets players explore a large, illustrated Roman scene while hunting for cats and other hidden items. The artwork starts monochrome and gains color as objects are uncovered, creating a calm visual payoff.
The game offers Normal and Advanced modes, each with its own cat count and hint system, plus bonus levels that appear after finding special cats. Accessibility options such as Dark Mode and Color Blindness support help tailor the experience.

Play Modes
Normal Mode places 120 cats in fixed locations and provides three hints that can be used at any time. This mode gives a straightforward search experience without random placement.
Advanced Mode hides 200 cats in semi‑random spots, includes 12 special cats that unlock bonus levels and grant hints, and adds 20 city people whose discovery also yields hints.
- Count the cats you see before using a hint to gauge how many remain.
- Notice whether a cat stays in the same spot after re‑entering a level; this indicates a fixed versus semi‑random placement.

Bonus Levels
Special cats discovered in Advanced Mode open bonus levels, each with its own set number of kittens to find. Locations include Gelateria, Osteria, Pastificio (each 50 kittens), and larger areas such as Basilica, Fontana, Nerd Arena (each 100 kittens).
These bonus levels vary in size, offering a separate hidden‑object challenge that does not mention additional city people or hints.
- Record which special cats you have found to know which bonus locations are available.
- Compare the kitten totals of each bonus level to estimate how much searching time each will require.
