About Heroes of a Broken Land
Heroes of a Broken Land combines turn‑based, first‑person dungeon crawling with town management. Players guide up to six parties, each holding six heroes, through procedurally generated worlds and dungeons while recruiting and upgrading adventurers.
Each playthrough creates a unique collection of floating Fragments that must be explored, purified, and restored. By building towns, constructing buildings, and allying with neighboring settlements, you gradually rebuild the shattered world.
01 / THE GUIDE
Procedural Exploration & Fragments
The game generates worlds and dungeons procedurally, meaning every Fragment you visit has a layout that differs from previous runs. This ensures that each expedition presents new corridors, enemy placements, and loot opportunities, requiring fresh tactical decisions each time.
Players may choose the size of a Fragment before entering. A small Fragment offers a brief adventure with fewer rooms, while an enormous Fragment expands the map, increasing travel distance and the number of encounters you must manage.
- Start with a small Fragment to become familiar with turn‑based movement and combat.
- Switch to larger Fragments once you feel comfortable handling multiple parties simultaneously.

Party Organization
You can manage up to six distinct parties, each capable of holding six heroes. This structure lets you allocate different hero types to separate groups, allowing simultaneous exploration of multiple dungeons or coordinated attacks on larger threats.
Combat proceeds in a turn‑based manner from a first‑person perspective, giving you time to issue commands for each hero in a party before the next turn resolves. This design emphasizes deliberate planning over reflexive action.
- Balance melee, ranged, and support heroes across parties to cover varied challenges.
- Rotate parties regularly so all heroes receive experience and equipment upgrades.

Town Building & Hero Growth
Town hubs allow you to construct buildings that improve both individual heroes and the overall kingdom. Structures such as training halls or resource generators directly affect hero progression, equipment availability, and the strength of your settlement.
Expanding your outpost provides additional facilities for training novices into powerful adventurers. As you build, you unlock new options for equipping and enhancing heroes, which in turn makes dungeon runs more successful.
- Prioritize training facilities early to accelerate hero level‑up.
- Add resource‑producing buildings after you have a stable hero roster.

Narrative & World Restoration
The world has been shattered by ancient wizards, leaving floating Fragments adrift in the Void. Your character is trapped in a crystal body and must rely on recruited heroes to act on your behalf and restore each Fragment.
Restoring a Fragment requires exploring its dungeons, gathering resources, and purifying the area. Once a Fragment is restored, the overall world can be rebuilt, and new towns become available for alliance and recruitment.
- Focus on recruiting a variety of heroes to handle the different challenges each Fragment presents.
- Form alliances with neighboring towns to broaden your recruitment pool.
