About HELLDROP
HELLDROP is a minimalist flight‑shooter where you pilot a spaceship deep underground to plant a nuclear bomb at a planet’s core. The game focuses on absorbing modules, adjusting the chassis, and synthesizing skills from module shapes.
Collected ores are used to upgrade and modify the next ship, and each planet contains bizarre bosses defending their lairs, and the core boss must be defeated to destroy the planet. The experience is single‑player and runs on Windows via Steam.
01 / THE GUIDE
Core Gameplay
The primary objective is to navigate a spaceship underground and detonate a nuclear device at the planet’s core. Progress is measured by defeating the core boss, which clears the current planet.
During each mission you encounter enemies and must shape‑snap modules in combat, allowing you to react to patterns and survive long enough to reach the core.
- Experiment with different module snap timings to see how they affect enemy encounters.
- Prioritise reaching the core boss early to reduce exposure to enemies along the way.

Module Synthesis
Four modules can be combined into different skills depending on their shapes. The resulting skill is linked to the ship’s current configuration, so each chassis layout can change how the skill behaves.
Because synthesis depends on shape, swapping one module for another can produce a new ability without changing the chassis, giving players a way to adapt between missions.
- Try multiple shape combinations in a single run to discover which produce the most useful abilities.
- Record which chassis setups enhance specific synthesized skills for future reference.

Ship Upgrades
Ores gathered during missions serve as material for upgrading and modifying the next spaceship. Upgrades may affect the chassis, abilities, or both, creating a loop of improvement across runs.
Every sacrifice of resources is valuable, so careful collection and allocation of ores determines how powerful the next ship can become.
- Focus on collecting ores in safer corridors before engaging difficult enemies.
- Balance chassis upgrades with ability enhancements to keep overall performance steady.

Boss Encounters
Each planet houses bizarre bosses defending their lairs. Defeating the core boss is required to destroy the planet, while other bosses defend their own lairs inside the planet.
During boss battles you can snap modules into any shape, providing a dynamic method to counter the boss’s attack patterns.
- Observe a boss’s movement before committing to a module shape; flexibility can turn the tide.
- Use the ability to snap modules into any shape to adapt to unexpected boss attacks.
