Roles and Squads
Each player selects one of 17 battle roles spread across six battlefield units, ranging from infantry specialists to helicopter crew. Squads are built from these roles, forming infantry, recon, armour, mortar and helicopter groups that operate under a chain of command.
Leadership positions such as Commander or Squad Leader issue orders, while specialists like Engineers or Medics provide support functions, creating a layered hierarchy that shapes each engagement.
- Coordinate with your Squad Leader to synchronize assaults.
- Choose a support role if you prefer indirect influence over the battle.

Vehicles and Tools
Both factions have access to a variety of vehicles. US forces can call in fully operational helicopters for fire support and supply drops, while NVA troops can construct tunnel networks for surprise attacks. Patrol boats navigate the river system to hunt enemy units.
These assets complement infantry actions, allowing players to deliver firepower, transport troops, or set ambushes, depending on the tactical situation.
- Use helicopters to provide overhead suppression before a ground push.
- Build tunnels early to create hidden routes for flank attacks.

Environmental features such as dense foliage provide cover, while river channels enable patrol boat operations, encouraging players to adapt their tactics to the landscape.
- Scout high ground for better visibility of enemy movements.
