About He is Coming

He is Coming is a roguelite role‑playing game where a resurrected Demon King sends a new boss to hunt the player every three days.

Each run offers single‑player exploration, an asynchronous "Kingmaker" competition, and real‑time PvP duels, with over 350 items and more than 100 challenges that unlock new artifacts for future attempts.

01 / THE GUIDE

Three‑Day Boss Cycle

Every three days a new Demon King minion appears, drawn from a pool of over 30 possible bosses. Each boss has distinct strengths and powers that force the player to reconsider equipment and tactics.

Because the cycle is fixed, players must decide whether to invest in armor, speed, or damage for the current hunt while keeping an eye on the next unknown threat.

  • Track the boss timer and reserve inventory space for items that counter its known abilities.
  • When the next boss is unknown, favor gear that offers broad defensive or offensive utility.

02 / THE GUIDE

Item Variety and Trade‑offs

The game provides over 350 items, including weapons, armor, shields, trinkets and magical artifacts. Each item influences health, speed, damage or special effects, and inventory space is limited.

Choosing an item often means sacrificing another attribute; for example, armor may protect against a heavy‑hitting boss but reduce speed needed for healing‑focused gear.

  • Balance immediate defensive needs with longer‑term offensive potential when selecting gear.
  • Look for items that grant secondary benefits, such as speed‑based healing, to cover multiple scenarios.

Multiplayer Modes

Players can compete in the asynchronous "Kingmaker" mode to claim the fallen Demon King’s crown, testing their builds against other players’ strategies.

A real‑time duel mode lets friends face each other every three days, allowing you to experiment with builds in direct competition.

  • Study opponent builds in Kingmaker to anticipate common item choices.
  • Use real‑time duels to test risky combinations before applying them in solo runs.

04 / THE GUIDE

Progression Through Challenges

Each run contributes to progression by completing over 100 unique challenges, which unlock new artifacts for future attempts.

Even if the first hero fails to defeat the Demon King, their efforts add items to the pool, gradually strengthening subsequent runs.

  • Target challenges that reward items useful against upcoming bosses.
  • Complete a variety of challenges to broaden the artifact pool for later runs.

05 / THE GUIDE

Platform and Controller Support

He is Coming runs on Windows and supports full controller use, including DualShock and DualSense devices. Steam Cloud and Family Sharing are also available.

Online features such as PvP, asynchronous Kingmaker competition, and Steam achievements are integrated into the Windows version.

  • Enable Steam Cloud to keep inventory and progress synced across devices.
  • Test both DualShock and DualSense configurations to find the most comfortable layout.
