About Haydee
Haydee is a hardcore metroidvania that blends third‑person shooting and platforming. Players guide the half‑human, half‑robot protagonist through a bleak artificial complex filled with traps, limited ammo and hidden items. The game demands vigilance, logical thinking and careful resource management.
The experience spans six distinct gameplay sections across 160 rooms, offering no health regeneration, checkpoints, or hand‑holding. Survival hinges on medkits, save stations, and a constrained inventory, while failure is frequent and persistence is essential.
01 / THE GUIDE
Gameplay Structure
The game is divided into six gameplay sections that together contain 160 rooms. Each area presents its own set of traps and challenges, requiring the player to adapt constantly. Exploration is central because all items are hidden, and the lack of checkpoints means progress relies on careful navigation and discovery.
- Map each section mentally before moving on.
- Take note of recurring trap patterns.
02 / THE GUIDE
Save System
Progress is recorded only at save stations and via diskettes; there is no automatic checkpoint system. This design forces players to plan routes and conserve resources between saves. Medkits restore health, but they must be found and used wisely since health does not regenerate on its own.
- Locate the nearest save station before engaging tough enemies.
- Carry a medkit whenever you leave a safe area.

Inventory Management
The inventory is limited, so players must decide which items to keep and which to discard. Ammunition is scarce, encouraging careful shooting and reliance on logic over brute force. All items are hidden, making thorough searching essential to maintain a usable stock of weapons and supplies.
- Prioritize ammo over non‑essential items.
- Revisit rooms after acquiring new tools.

Difficulty and Death
Haydee offers a challenging experience with no health regeneration and frequent failures. The game does not hand‑hold; players must act independently and learn from each death. Persistence is emphasized, as the design expects players to die often and improve through repeated attempts.
- Treat each death as a learning opportunity.
- Adjust your approach after each failure.

While the base game remains single‑player, the editor expands replayability through community‑crafted experiences.
