About Hachishaku
In the deserted village of NaniNani Mura, Chado‑san, the last pure monk of his line, searches for the reasons behind his childhood exile, the mass departure of villagers, and the fate of a remembered childhood friend. A legendary spirit known as Hachishaku stalks the area, forcing the player to guard Chado‑san’s purity while seeking an exit.
The game blends stalker‑horror investigation with a collectible quest: locate five sacred Jizo statues, read journals left by former residents, and gather photographic evidence of the spirit. Money earned can be spent on costumes, hairstyles, and accessories for an eight‑foot stalker, and a future update will add a peaceful Gravure Mode.

Story and Setting
NaniNani Mura is presented as a recently abandoned settlement where Chado‑san, the final monk of his lineage, searches for answers about his forced move to Tokyo, the villagers’ sudden flight, and the disappearance of a cherished childhood companion. The setting’s emptiness reinforces the horror tone and drives the investigative focus.
Within this backdrop, the spirit Hachishaku is described as a legendary entity that hunts the player’s pure energy. Its presence creates urgency, compelling the player to balance exploration with the need to protect Chado‑san’s purity and ultimately escape the village.
- Cross‑reference journal entries to build a chronological picture of the village’s decline.
- Note environmental cues that may hint at the spirit’s preferred hunting zones.

Core Gameplay Loop
Players move through the village, investigating locations and gathering clues from journals and notes left by former residents. The primary objective is to locate five sacred Jizo statues and return each to its shrine, which advances the main storyline.
Money collected during exploration can be spent on costumes, hairstyles, and accessories for the eight‑foot stalker. Photographic evidence of Hachishaku is also scattered throughout, encouraging thorough searching and documentation of the spirit’s appearances.
- Prioritize Jizo statue locations early to unlock shrine interactions sooner.

Gravure Mode
A post‑launch update will introduce Gravure Mode, described as a peaceful life with Hachishaku in her secret hideout. This mode offers a distinct experience from the stalker‑horror core, focusing on calm interaction rather than survival pressure.
Gravure Mode appears to provide an alternative way to engage with the spirit, offering a quieter experience alongside the stalker-horror gameplay.
