About Gunman Contracts - Stand Alone
Gunman Contracts – Stand Alone is an action-movie-inspired single-player shooter developed from the ground up by ANB_Seth, the creator of the popular Half-Life: Alyx mods Gunman Contracts – Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. It is designed for both VR and non-VR play, casting you as "the gunman," a feared professional operative taking contracts for a secretive order that delivers justice where the law cannot reach.
The early-access launch package contains three connected story contracts, the gunman's home base called the Hive, two challenge modes, and 18 weapons to unlock with per-weapon attachments, plus a compound bow and knives. Three additional story missions are planned as free updates, and the price will rise as content is added up to version 1.0.

Story Campaign
The gunman's new target is the Collectors, a ruthless criminal operation kidnapping and killing innocent people for reasons that are not yet clear. The three connected contracts take you from an old safehouse on the city outskirts, through a syndicate-run harbor warehouse district, to a mob-run restaurant hiding a dark truth below.
You pick out your gear before each mission and fight your way toward the truth behind the organization. Three more story missions will arrive later as free updates during early access.
- Try out different weapons at the Hive before locking in a loadout for a contract.
- Replay earlier contracts to chase better leaderboard times once you know the layouts.

The Hive – Gunman's Base
The Hive is the gunman's home base and training hub. It features a speed-shooting obstacle course, pop-up target practice, a classic gun range with skill games, and a holographic enemy combat area.
The gun wall stores more than 18 weapons you can unlock, and a gun bench lets you skin weapons and modify their gun sounds, so you can make the arsenal your own before heading out on contracts.
- Rotate through every training station to find which drills suit your weaknesses.
- Use the gun bench to give weapons distinct sounds so you can tell them apart instantly.

Challenge Modes and Leaderboards
Two challenge modes ship at launch across five maps. Takedown Mode lets you choose enemy types and enemy count, then clear a closed area against up to 30 enemies. Last Stand pits you against endless waves of hostiles while you disarm bombs and survive as long as you can.
Every contract, skill game, and challenge has Steam leaderboards, with scores divided between VR and non-VR players, so you can compete or simply chase a personal best.
- Begin Takedown runs with small enemy counts to learn each arena before scaling up.
- In Last Stand, weigh the risk of going for bombs against simply staying alive longer.

Custom Music Feature
The gunman's smartphone lets you play your own MP3 files in-game, giving missions and training sessions a personalized soundtrack. It is a presentation feature and does not change how gameplay works.
Because it is built into the game rather than an external overlay, you can keep your chosen tracks running while you drill at the Hive or work through contracts.
- Pick energetic tracks for combat-heavy contracts and steadier music for range practice.
- Keep your MP3 library organized so you can swap soundtracks quickly between sessions.

Options and Platform Features
The Steam listing lists full controller support, and the game also carries VR support, Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, stats, and Family Sharing. An optional low-violence mode is included for players who prefer reduced graphic intensity.
Note that the listing's platform metadata applies to this Steam page: it covers Windows, with no Mac or Linux versions shown there.
- Enable low-violence mode if graphic effects distract from the shooting itself.
- Check the Steam page for the current price, since it increases as content is added toward 1.0.
