About Greyhat - A Digital Detective Adventure
Greyhat puts you in the role of a notorious hacker‑for‑hire whose latest job provokes powerful enemies and leads to his daughter's kidnapping. The story drives you to infiltrate high‑risk systems, expose secrets, and chase clues to bring her home.
Each playthrough mixes text‑based investigation, puzzles, and mini‑games while randomising passwords, clues and solutions. The single‑player experience lasts about 10‑15 hours and lets you customize your name, gender and hacker alias.

Story premise
You act as yourself, an infamous hacker‑for‑hire, whose completed job angers powerful figures and triggers the abduction of your daughter. The narrative frames every hack as a step toward rescuing her.
Key missions include exposing unsafe drug test reports, landing blind‑flying planes, stopping a rogue nation’s nuclear launch, leaking a Neo‑Nazi roster and solving a cold murder case.
- Keep the personal stakes in mind when choosing dialogue options; they shape the story’s urgency.
- Note each mission’s primary objective to maintain focus on the overarching rescue goal.

Hacking puzzles and mini‑games
Gameplay centers on infiltrating computers, reading emails, browsing histories and manipulating software to uncover clues. Every level offers a distinct setting, puzzles, twists and mini‑games that require hacker‑style thinking.
Solutions are randomized, so passwords, clues and outcomes differ each run, demanding fresh problem‑solving each time you play.
- Write down recurring puzzle patterns; they can speed up later attempts.
- Try different text‑chat responses to see how allies and foes react.

Randomized clues and replayability
All investigative elements—text logs, emails, journal notes and browsing histories—are shuffled each run. This randomisation means the same level can present new evidence and different password combinations on subsequent plays.
The design ensures that no two playthroughs are identical, supporting replay value focused on discovery rather than fixed outcomes.
- Capture screenshots of interesting clues for later reference.
- Compare clue layouts between runs to spot any systematic placement.

Collectibles and side content
Each level hides side‑stories, poems, wallpapers and cryptocurrency as collectibles. These items add narrative depth while you solve the main hacking challenges.
Collectibles provide optional flavor and a sense of thorough exploration alongside the main hacking challenges.
- Explore every folder and email thread for hidden items.
- Keep your own notes on searched areas to avoid missing collectibles.
