About Green Hell

Green Hell drops players into an open‑world Amazon jungle where survival hinges on realistic techniques. Players must craft tools, hunt for food, fight dangers, gather resources, tend wounds in inspection mode, manage mental health, and build shelters or larger bases from wood, bamboo, stone, mud and rope.

The game offers a 25+ hour story campaign following anthropologist Jake Higgins, a free pre‑quel "Spirits of Amazonia" with over 20 hours, and an Endless Mode that focuses solely on survival. Both solo and online co‑op let friends face the jungle together.

01 / THE GUIDE

Story Campaign

The main campaign follows Jake Higgins, an anthropologist stranded while searching for his missing wife Mia. Over 25+ hours the narrative explores survival, guilt and the fragility of the human mind, revealing dark secrets about Jake’s past.

A free pre‑quel, "Spirits of Amazonia," adds more than 20 hours of gameplay that details events leading up to Jake’s story and expands the jungle’s mystery.

  • Play the story first to become familiar with the inspection mode and mental‑health system.
  • Take regular breaks to keep mental health from dropping too low during long sessions.

02 / THE GUIDE

Endless Mode

Endless Mode removes narrative constraints, letting players focus entirely on survival mechanics such as crafting, hunting, and base building. The mode runs indefinitely, testing how long players can endure the jungle’s challenges.

Post‑launch updates have added new mechanics and improvements, keeping the experience fresh for long play sessions.

  • Prioritise gathering wood, bamboo and stone early to speed shelter construction.
  • Monitor mental health regularly, as the mode provides no scripted relief.

03 / THE GUIDE

Base Building

Players can construct simple shelters or multi‑level bases using wood, bamboo, stone, mud and rope. Bases may be fortified and illuminated at night, and can even be built in treetops for added safety.

Furniture, decorations and colour options let players personalise their jungle home, while fortifications help keep enemies at bay.

  • Collect mud and rope together to enable fortified walls.
  • Add lighting to improve visibility during night cycles.

04 / THE GUIDE

Animal Interaction

Capybaras, tapirs, peccaries, armadillos and anteaters can be bred and pet. Feeding and caring for them builds trust, allowing players to keep a friendly menagerie alongside dangerous predators.

Natural gifts such as honey, bird feathers, eggs and insects can be harvested for crafting and sustenance.

  • Gather honey and feathers early for use in recipes and tools.
  • Spend time feeding animals to maintain their trust.

05 / THE GUIDE

Multiplayer Co‑op

Green Hell supports online co‑op, allowing friends to survive together in the same jungle session. All survival systems—crafting, hunting, wound inspection and mental‑health management—remain available in co‑op.

Co‑op does not remove any of the core challenges; players face the same enemies and environmental hazards as in solo play.

  • Coordinate roles so one player focuses on gathering while another handles shelter upkeep.
  • Communicate wound status promptly to ensure timely treatment.
