About GreedFall: The Dying World
GreedFall: The Dying World is a narrative‑driven RPG set three years before the original title. Players create a Doneigad sage from Teer Fradee, choose appearance, attributes, talents and abilities, then embark on a story where every decision influences alliances and the continent’s fate.
The adventure spans the Old Continent, from Olima’s City of Stars to the Nauts’ port of Uxantis and the ruin‑strewn roads of Thynea. Players can recruit eight companions, craft gear, use diplomacy or cunning tricks, and command the ship Constanzia, which serves as a mobile headquarters.
01 / THE GUIDE
Impactful Narrative Choices
The game states that every choice you make influences the course of events and that every alliance you forge has real consequences, encouraging players to consider diplomatic or crafty solutions alongside combat.
Your background as a Doneigad sage frames the opening conflict with foreign captors, and the story reacts to how you handle that crisis, shaping relationships with allies and the world’s ultimate destiny.
- Observe companion dialogue after key decisions to gauge trust changes.
- Experiment with non‑violent options early to keep more alliances open.

Vast World Exploration
Travel takes you across the Old Continent, visiting locations such as Olima’s City of Stars, the scientific observatory, Uxantis, the Nauts’ capital, and the ruin‑lined roads of Thynea, each described in the official overview.
Exploration includes finding hidden treasures, accessing forbidden places with disguises, and encountering a mysterious disease that affects the powerful nations you meet.
- Mark each major city on your map to track discovered points of interest.
- Use disguises when entering restricted areas to avoid conflict.

Companion Recruitment and Management
Eight memorable companions can be recruited; each has their own story, beliefs and secrets, and players can choose their equipment, outfits, attributes and combat specialities.
Companions provide off‑field knowledge of factions and can influence doors that would otherwise stay closed, while player actions affect bond strength, potentially leading to deeper connections or companions leaving.
- Balance combat roles among companions to cover melee and ranged needs.
- Align dialogue choices with a companion’s beliefs to strengthen bonds.

Combat and Tactical Pause
Combat occurs in real time, and the game offers a tactical pause that lets you plan actions, exploit enemy weaknesses and adapt your strategy during encounters.
Players may also select a Story mode for narrative focus or a Tactician mode for a real challenge, allowing the experience to be fine‑tuned to personal preference.
- Activate tactical pause to study enemy patterns before committing attacks.
- Switch between Story and Tactician modes to match the difficulty you desire.

The game includes adjustable difficulty and configuration options such as camera comfort, custom volume controls, subtitle options and partial controller support, letting players tailor the experience.
Features like Save Anytime, Playable without Timed Input and Steam Cloud further support flexible sessions and progress preservation.
