About Granny
Granny traps you inside a dim house. You awaken in a dark room with only a flashlight on a table. The main door is sealed with several locks, so you must search the rooms for keys and other objects to unlock it and escape.
While you explore, Granny reacts to any sound you make, and hidden dangers such as bear traps and her pets roam the darkness. You can hide in wardrobes or coffins, use two types of temporary weapons, or try to flee through a garage where an old car awaits.

Escape Mechanics
The primary exit requires you to locate keys and objects that match each lock on the main door. Every lock must be opened with the appropriate item before the door can be used to leave the house.
A secondary route exists through the garage. If you find the old car, start it, and open the garage door, you can drive away. This path also depends on finding the necessary items to operate the vehicle.
- Check each room thoroughly for keys before attempting to open a lock.
- If you locate the car early, gather its required items to keep the garage option open.

Stealth and Sound
Granny moves toward any noise you create; dropping objects or walking on a creaking floor will cause her to run to that spot. Staying quiet reduces the chance she will locate you quickly.
Hiding places such as wardrobes and coffins provide temporary safety, but they only work if Granny does not see you while you are concealed.
- Move slowly on floorboards to minimize creaking sounds.
- Observe where you drop items; avoid making noise near locks you need to open.

Weapons and Defense
Two distinct weapons can be found inside the house. Using a weapon stops Granny for a short period, giving you a brief window to act without immediate pursuit.
The effect is temporary, so timing the weapon use around critical actions—such as unlocking a door or moving past a trap—maximizes its usefulness.
- Reserve a weapon for moments when you must perform noisy actions.
- Combine weapon use with a quick move to a hiding spot for added safety.

Difficulty Levels
Granny offers five difficulty settings: Extreme, Hard, Normal, Easy, and Practice. Selecting a level changes the overall challenge you face while attempting to escape.
Practice mode removes Granny entirely, allowing you to explore the house and test interactions without the threat of pursuit, while the other levels keep her active.
- Start with Practice to learn item locations before tackling higher difficulties.
- Gradually increase difficulty to become comfortable with the house layout and hazards.
05 / THE GUIDE
Practice Mode
In Practice mode the house contains no Granny, giving you a safe environment to familiarize yourself with room layouts, hidden objects, and escape routes.
Other dangers such as bear traps and pets may still be present, so you must remain cautious even without Granny chasing you.
- Use Practice mode to map the quickest path to the garage.
- Locate where weapons can be found without the pressure of Granny’s pursuit.
