About Grandpa's Bee Haven
Grandpa’s Bee Haven is an idle‑beekeeping simulator that runs at the bottom of your screen, letting you tend a virtual apiary while you work on other projects. The game focuses on placing hives, adding equipment, and watching resources grow during short breaks.
You can expand the apiary with upgrades, new resources, helpers, and additional maps, creating a cozy, customizable bee sanctuary that runs in the background. It is a single‑player experience available on Windows and macOS with Steam achievements and cloud saves.
01 / THE GUIDE
Setting Up Your Apiary
Place beehives on the screen and assign bees and bee plants to each hive. Adding nearby watering stations and performing inspections helps the bees thrive.
Honey Extractors harvest honey while Beeswax Melters collect beeswax. Both pieces of equipment are placed alongside hives to create a functional apiary layout.
- Arrange watering stations close to hives for visual clarity.
- Group extractors and melters near the same hive to monitor output easily.

Upgrading Equipment and Unlocking Resources
Upgrade hives, honey extractors, and beeswax melters to increase efficiency. Maximum upgrades unlock additional resources such as pollen, propolis, and royal jelly.
These new resources can be spent on further upgrades, equipment, plants, and decorations, expanding the depth of the idle system.
- Prioritize hive upgrades early to boost overall production.
- Collect newly unlocked resources before investing in decorative items.

Hiring Helpers
The game offers a roster of helpers including Grandma, a Scientist, a Shaman, a dog, and a cat. Each helper provides a distinct benefit, such as Grandma boosting production or the Scientist handling inspections.
The Shaman adds flavor by playing a flute and performing a rain dance, contributing to the ambience of the apiary.
- Use Grandma when you want a steady production bump.
- Let the Scientist manage inspections to reduce manual clicks.

Unlocking Land and Maps
Players can unlock additional land on both sides of the screen, providing more space for hives, plants, and decorations. A total of three maps are available.
The maps allow creative placement of flowers, bushes, and trees, catering to both perfectionists and casual designers.
- Choose a map that matches your preferred color palette for easier visual management.
- Expand land gradually to keep the apiary organized.
