About GONE Fishing
GONE Fishing tasks players with feeding an ancient eldritch lake entity by catching a wide variety of fish and creatures. Players may fish alone or with friends, explore several maps, and use live animals as bait while managing a daily feeding requirement.
Beyond the core loop, the game adds gambling, crafting fish into items, confronting territorial beasts, and customizing characters who can even play instruments. Profits from sold catches fund upgrades and gear bought from traders scattered across the world.
01 / THE GUIDE
Feeding the Lake Entity
Each in‑game day demands a set amount of fish to be sacrificed to the lake beast; survival hinges on meeting this quota. The entity does not distinguish who provides the offering, only that the required quantity is delivered.
Over one hundred fish species are available, and live animals can serve as bait. Players must catch, process, and deliver enough fish before the daily deadline to avoid a game‑over state.
- Log the daily quota early and compare it to your average catch rate.
- Target high‑yield species to keep surplus fish for upgrades.
02 / THE GUIDE
Bounty and Gambling Pit
Caught fish can be sold for profit, which can be spent on gear, upgrades, and items from traders found around the map. Selling provides a steady income stream for progression.
Alternatively, players may wager their haul in the gambling pit, risking loss for a chance at greater reward. This creates a risk‑reward decision separate from the feeding loop.
- Sell a portion of your catch before gambling to preserve essential funds.
- Observe the pit’s payout patterns to gauge risk before betting large amounts.

03 / THE GUIDE
Territorial Beasts and Nightmares
The world hosts territorial beasts, stalking nightmares, and ambushing predators. Learning each creature’s behavior helps players avoid lethal encounters while fishing.
If a player dies, they cannot feed the lake entity, making awareness of these threats essential for continued survival.
- Identify silhouette cues that signal an approaching predator.
- Stay clear of known predator hotspots during high‑risk periods.

Online Co‑op Play
GONE Fishing supports both single‑player and online co‑op modes, allowing friends to join feeding runs. Co‑op participants can work together on feeding runs, and the beast doesn't care who is feeding it, only that it is fed.
The beast doesn't care who is feeding it, only that it is fed, so the group can work together to keep it fed each day.
- Assign one teammate to manage bait while another focuses on catching.
- Communicate when the quota is near completion to coordinate final deliveries.
