About Gladiator Command
Gladiator Command puts you in charge of a struggling Ludus in ancient Rome. You recruit fighters, hire staff, manage finances, and oversee recovery while shaping each gladiator’s development.
Arena battles unfold in real‑time, using the attributes, skills and specialisations you have cultivated. Victories bring money and prestige, and every fight influences both the gladiator and the Ludus.
01 / THE GUIDE
Recruitment and Talent
Each new gladiator arrives with a unique set of attributes, traits and potential, giving you a varied pool to evaluate. Your strategy determines which individuals you add to the Ludus.
After hiring, you can guide a recruit toward becoming a defender, duelist, attacker or arena specialist, allowing you to build a roster that matches upcoming challenges.
- Compare early recruits’ traits with the combat roles you plan to emphasise.
- Mix different attribute profiles to cover multiple arena functions.

Training and Management
You decide how hard to push fighters; aggressive training can accelerate progress, yet exhausted or injured gladiators may struggle to survive future bouts.
Running the Ludus also requires maintaining training grounds, hiring staff and balancing the budget, all of which keep the school operational while preparing fighters.
- Balance intense drills with recovery periods to avoid burnout.
- Monitor your finances so you can afford necessary staff and facilities.

Arena Combat
Combat plays out in real‑time, employing the attributes, skills and specialisations you have developed. Nets can trap opponents, shields absorb damage and weapons find openings.
A single decisive strike can end a career, and each fight leaves lasting effects on both the gladiator and the Ludus’s reputation.
- Watch how each specialisation performs during fights to guide future training.
- Use defensive tools like shields for fighters low on stamina.

Progression and Prestige
You face increasingly dangerous opponents, enter multi‑round tournaments and earn prestige. Success unlocks greater opportunities for expanding the Ludus.
Victories provide money and recognition, but lasting success requires a roster that can endure injuries, shifting circumstances and the relentless demands of Rome’s arenas.
- Target tournament wins that reward both funds and prestige.
- Plan roster depth so injuries do not cripple your Ludus.
