About Garden Life: A Cozy Simulator
Garden Life: A Cozy Simulator lets you restore an abandoned community garden using real‑world gardening techniques adapted for a relaxed video‑game experience. You can plant seeds, water, fertilize, clip, and weed while each plant grows procedurally, adapting to its surroundings.
The game offers two play styles: story mode, where neighbours assign tasks that reward new tools, seeds, ornaments, and garden areas; and creative mode, which instantly unlocks every corner, seed, and ornament, allowing unrestricted design without timed input.
01 / THE GUIDE
Story Mode
In story mode you inherit an abandoned community garden and work to restore it. Neighbours give you tasks, and completing those tasks grants rewards such as new tools, seeds, ornaments, and access to additional garden areas.
The mode lets you save anytime and progress at your own pace, with no timed input required. Rewards are earned through task completion rather than external purchases.
- Focus on early neighbour tasks to unlock a broader variety of seeds.
- Use the free‑form placement system to experiment with plant spacing while you progress.

Creative Mode
Creative mode removes all progression locks: every garden corner, seed, and ornament is available from the start, letting you design without first completing tasks.
Plants still grow procedurally, so you can observe how different varieties adapt when placed near objects that encourage climbing, all without any timed pressure.
- Place climbing‑capable plants near structures to see procedural adaptation.
- Vary spacing to compare how each variety thrives without constraints.

Procedural Growth Simulation
Each plant follows its own procedural algorithm, meaning no two instances are identical. Some plants can adapt by climbing when planted close to suitable objects.
The simulation runs regardless of season, so plants continue to thrive throughout the year, providing a realistic yet forgiving environment.
- Observe how proximity to objects influences climbing behavior.
- Group different species together to compare growth differences.

Economy and Shop
The village square hosts a stall where you can sell flowers and bouquets. Earnings can be spent in the shop on new seeds, ornaments, and tools, expanding your gardening options.
Donating flowers contributes to large floral sculptures in the pavilion, which can yield prizes. All transactions occur within the game world without external currency.
- Harvest and sell blooms regularly to maintain a steady flow of shop currency.
- Consider donating flowers to the pavilion for potential prize opportunities.
