About Gal Guardians: Demon Purge
Gal Guardians: Demon Purge puts two demon‑hunting sisters, Shinobu and Maya, into a cursed school turned castle. Players slash, shoot, and swap between the long‑range and close‑range sibling while battling demonic bosses and exploring new routes.
The game offers selectable Japanese or English voice tracks, three adjustable difficulty styles, and optional local co‑op with split‑screen. It runs on Windows with full controller support, Steam achievements, cloud saves, and Remote Play Together.
01 / THE GUIDE
Dynamic Character Swapping
Players may switch between Shinobu and Maya at any moment, letting them react instantly to enemy patterns. Shinobu provides focused long‑distance attacks, while Maya excels in close‑range brawling.
Swapping does not consume resources and works in both single‑player and split‑screen co‑op, so a second player can take control of the sister not currently active.
- Swap when an enemy group clusters to use the sister with the appropriate range.
- Practice quick swaps in a safe area to build muscle memory.
02 / THE GUIDE
Boss‑Granted Sub‑Weapons
Defeating each demonic boss rewards the sisters with a new sub‑weapon, expanding their combat options. These weapons are added to the existing arsenal for both characters.
New sub‑weapons also open previously inaccessible routes, encouraging players to revisit earlier sections of the castle after each boss defeat.
- After a boss, explore nearby corridors to see if a new path appears.
- Keep track of which sub‑weapon unlocks which area for efficient backtracking.

03 / THE GUIDE
Pure and Refined Voice Tracks
The story can be heard in either the original Japanese "Pure" voice track or the English "Refined" track. Both contain the same narrative content about the school's transformation.
Choosing a track does not alter gameplay, difficulty, or progression, allowing players to select the audio style they prefer.
- Select Pure mode for an authentic Japanese audio experience.
- Switch to Refined mode if you prefer English narration while playing.
04 / THE GUIDE
Adjustable Difficulty Styles
Three styles—Casual, Veteran, and Legend—let players tailor the challenge. The selection can be changed at any time after the game starts without penalty.
Casual offers forgiving enemy behavior, Veteran introduces tougher patterns, and Legend demands precise timing and resource management.
- Begin with Casual to learn enemy patterns before moving to Veteran.
- Try Legend after mastering sub‑weapon usage for a true test.
05 / THE GUIDE
Local Co‑op Play
When two controllers are connected, a second player may join at any point, taking control of the sister not currently active. The mode uses shared/split‑screen.
Co‑op does not change story progression, voice track selection, or difficulty; both players share the same progress and sub‑weapons.
- Coordinate swaps with your partner to keep both sisters alive.
- Communicate which sub‑weapon is needed for upcoming obstacles.
