About Fruit Salad

Fruit Salad is a physics‑based puzzle where you drop bouncy fruit into a container and merge matching pieces into the next larger fruit, progressing from a tiny cherry up to a giant watermelon while scoring points.

The game offers single‑player Classic mode and several multiplayer options, including local and online Versus, a timed Survival mode, and a daily challenge that shares the same fruit sequence for all players.

01 / THE GUIDE

Game Modes

Classic lets you take your time, place each drop deliberately, and try to maximise points before the container fills. Scores are recorded on Steam leaderboards for comparison with friends.

Versus pits two players on separate boards; when one container fills, that score locks and the other player keeps playing until they beat it or fill their own container. Survival adds a timer that grows with each merge, while Daily Salad gives every player the same fruit order each day for a fresh leaderboard race.

  • Watch how merges extend time in Survival to plan longer chains.
  • Use the known daily fruit order in Daily Salad to anticipate high‑value merges.

Multiplayer Options

Local Versus allows two players to share a single computer, each with their own board, while Steam Friends Versus connects online friends for the same competitive format.

Both Versus modes keep each player's score locked when their container fills, and the higher locked score determines the winner unless the opponent overtakes it before filling.

  • Observe your opponent’s board to gauge when they are close to filling.
  • After a close match, start a rematch to settle the score.

Scoring and Merges

When two matching fruits meet, they combine into the next larger fruit, granting points and creating a larger piece that can merge again later.

The aim is to keep the container as open as possible, leaving room for just one more drop while the point total climbs with each successful merge.

  • Merge smaller fruit early to free space for larger pieces.
  • Balance high‑value merges with maintaining enough room for new drops.

04 / THE GUIDE

Daily Salad Challenge

Each day the game provides the same fruit sequence to every player, creating an even playing field for a daily high‑score competition.

Because the sequence is identical, you can study previous days’ results to refine your merge order and improve your ranking over time.

  • Memorise the daily sequence to plan optimal merges in advance.
  • Compare top scores to discover effective merging patterns.

Platform and Controller Support

Fruit Salad runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux and includes full controller support for DualShock and DualSense devices, letting you play with a gamepad.

Features such as Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, and cross‑platform multiplayer are available, and Family Sharing permits multiple accounts on the same device to access the game.

  • Try both DualShock and DualSense controllers to see which feels more comfortable for precise drops.
  • Steam Cloud is also among the listed features, alongside Steam Achievements and cross‑platform multiplayer.
