01 / THE GUIDE
Exploration
The world of Forager is open and encourages you to purchase land, which expands the map you can travel across. New islands appear as you buy land, each offering fresh resources, puzzles, secrets and dungeons that can be raided for additional items.
Exploring islands reveals different terrain types and resource nodes, prompting you to decide which areas merit further development. The discovery process is tied to the core loop of gathering, crafting and expanding your settlement.
- Survey nearby islands before buying land to prioritize resource‑rich zones.
- Note puzzle locations on a quick sketch; solving them often yields useful items.

Crafting & Building
Resources gathered during exploration can be turned into useful items and structures. As you level up, new recipes and blueprints become available, letting you create tools, equipment and buildings that match your playstyle.
Base construction starts from nothing and grows as you place structures, upgrade facilities and connect new land. The building system lets you manage resources, store items and create a functional settlement.
- Craft basic tools early to speed up resource collection.
- Place storage buildings near resource‑rich areas for efficient gathering.
