About Floodcore
Floodcore is a vertical‑slice puzzle adventure created by five French students as a graduation project. Players explore a flooded world filled with the ruins of an ancient civilization, using a unique power that lets them swap positions with objects.
A single playthrough lasts roughly 15‑30 minutes, depending on how quickly puzzles are solved. The game runs on Windows, supports full controller input, is single‑player, and can be shared via family sharing.
01 / THE GUIDE
Swap Mechanic
The core ability lets you exchange your position with a specific object, or swap two objects together. This power is required to move forward in every temple area and forms the basis of each puzzle.
Each new zone expands the swap mechanic, demanding either anticipation of several moves or exhaustive testing of possibilities. Because many puzzles admit several valid solutions, the mechanic encourages creative experimentation.
- Try swapping both yourself and objects to uncover hidden routes.
- Plan the order of swaps; some puzzles reward thinking several steps ahead.

Environment and Areas
Floodcore features several distinct ruins, each with its own visual style and purpose. Locations range from the temple’s surface to underground chambers and a luxuriant garden.
Every area feels different through its puzzles and atmosphere, giving players varied visual and spatial challenges as they move deeper into the flooded world.
- Notice visual cues in each area; they often hint at how swaps can be used.
- Explore the garden for a change of scenery and new puzzle layouts.

03 / THE GUIDE
Puzzle Variety
Puzzles range from those that demand foresight of several moves to ones that require testing every possible swap. The design pushes players to think ahead or brute‑force possibilities.
Because many puzzles have multiple solutions, players can approach challenges in different ways, making each short playthrough feel personal.
- If a puzzle feels stuck, try a less obvious swap to reveal an alternative solution.
- Observe how earlier puzzles introduce mechanics that reappear later in more complex forms.

Atmosphere and Audio
The soundscape features waves, birds, wind, and waterfalls, creating a calm backdrop that contrasts with the mental effort of puzzles. Players can pause to simply enjoy this ambient environment.
Audio design reinforces the flooded setting, adding to each area's immersion alongside its puzzles and atmosphere.
- Use moments between puzzles to listen to the ambient sounds; they help gauge pacing.
- Adjust volume so the natural ambience guides your focus during challenging sections.

Platform and Controller Support
Floodcore runs on Windows and offers full controller support, with a recommendation to use a gamepad for the best experience. The game is single‑player and can be shared through family sharing.
No other platforms are listed, and the description does not mention keyboard‑only requirements, leaving controller use as the primary input method.
- If you have a gamepad, use it to feel the swap mechanic’s spatial nature more intuitively.
- Family sharing lets another household member play without needing a separate purchase.
