About Flats Full of Cats
Flats Full of Cats is a cozy hidden‑object game that lets you wander through three hand‑drawn apartments, each belonging to a policeman, a paleontologist, or a scientist. Every room is packed with cats to discover, plus detailed décor that matches a science, mystery, or adventure theme.
The title offers three play modes—Normal, Expert, and Time Attack—while the first floor is free and additional themed floors can be bought. It runs on Windows and Linux, supports full controllers, and includes Steam features such as achievements, cloud saves, and family sharing.

Play Modes
Normal Mode contains 300 cats with detailed designs that follow each floor’s theme, giving a relaxed visual experience. Expert Mode also has 300 cats but uses minimalist designs, catering to players who prefer a cleaner look for spotting hidden felines.
Time Attack Mode creates a mixed set of 100 cats per apartment and records how quickly you find them. This mode is replay‑oriented and optional; you can finish the story without ever entering Time Attack.
- Start with Normal Mode to learn each apartment’s layout before trying Expert Mode.
- Use Time Attack only after you feel comfortable with the other modes if you enjoy timing your runs.

Apartment Themes
Each floor is a self‑contained episode with its own story and a quest that links the three apartments. The décor and cat designs reflect one of three themes—science, mystery, or adventure—giving each location a distinct visual flavor.
The first floor is free to play, allowing newcomers to sample the style before purchasing additional themed floors. Purchasing a theme unlocks its full set of cats and related story content.
- Play the free floor first to see which theme you prefer before buying more.
- Notice how cat silhouettes echo the apartment’s theme; this can guide your search.

Visual Style
The game features hand‑drawn visuals and relaxing music that create a soothing atmosphere. In Normal Mode cats are rendered with detailed artwork that matches the floor’s theme, while Expert Mode presents them in a minimalist style.
These visual differences are purely aesthetic; they do not change any gameplay mechanics or the number of cats you must find.
- If you enjoy richer artwork, begin with Normal Mode.
- Switch to Expert Mode if a simpler visual field helps you locate cats faster.

Steam Features
Flats Full of Cats supports Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, and Family Sharing. Steam Achievements and Steam Cloud are listed as supported features for the game.
The game is listed as single‑player, meaning the experience is designed for one player at a time.
- Enable Steam Cloud in the client to protect your progress.
- Share the game via Family Sharing so friends can try it without buying a separate copy.
