About FINAL FANTASY XIV Online
FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Free Trial bundles the base game and its three expansions—A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers—offering a 30‑day free play window. Players can explore a vast world, follow the main storyline, and engage in combat solo or with friends, calling on NPC allies for dungeon runs.
The trial introduces new jobs across each expansion, such as Astrologian, Machinist, Dark Knight, Red Mage, Samurai, Gunbreaker, and Dancer, while requiring registration and a Square Enix account. After the trial, a paid subscription is needed for continued play.
01 / THE GUIDE
Story and World
The trial covers the core narrative of all four titles, taking adventurers from the dragon‑torn skies of Ishgard to the war‑torn East and the light‑shadow conflict of Shadowbringers. Each expansion adds distinct regions and plot arcs that build on the previous story.
Players can experience main‑story dungeons alone by summoning NPC allies, allowing solo progression through the overarching tale without needing a party.
- Read quest logs to keep track of story milestones across expansions.
- Use NPC allies for solo dungeon runs to avoid waiting for group members.
