About Fill Up The Hole
Fill Up The Hole is a short incremental game where peons automatically gather garbage and toss it into a hole, advancing progress. As you throw more garbage, the village expands and visual upgrades appear. The experience lasts about two and a half hours, with two possible endings and an optional extended/relax mode for players who enjoy a longer, more idle session.
01 / THE GUIDE
Throw Garbage
Peons continuously collect trash and fling it into the central hole. Each piece thrown counts toward overall progress, driving the core loop of the game.
The speed and volume of throws directly influence how quickly the village grows and how soon new upgrades become available.
- Observe which peon actions generate the most throws and prioritize those buildings.
- Balance the number of active peons to avoid bottlenecks in garbage flow.
02 / THE GUIDE
Expand Your Village
Building new structures enlarges the village and provides additional places for peons to work. Placement order can affect overall efficiency.
Taking the time to remove rocks is one way to expand your base as you plan future buildings.
- Plan building placement early to keep pathways clear for peons.
- Consider the impact of rock removal on later construction timing.

Unlock Upgrades and Abilities
A skill tree offers more than ten unique buildings and various upgrades that enhance peons and structures. Research, talents, and skills become available as you progress.
Upgrades can change how efficiently garbage is produced and thrown, allowing multiple strategic approaches.
- Experiment with different upgrade paths to discover which best fits your play style.
- Track which upgrades provide the biggest boost to throw rates.

Extended and Relax Modes
Beyond the short 2‑hour‑30‑minute main playthrough, the game offers an extended/relax mode for players who prefer a longer, more idle experience.
Both modes lead to one of two possible endings, giving a slight variation in conclusion.
- If you enjoy idle progression, switch to relax mode after the main story.
- Compare the two endings to see how different strategies affect the outcome.
