About FATE
FATE returns the classic dungeon‑crawling action RPG to the town of Grove. Players leave the Old Wood, enter the Dungeon Gate, fight creatures, collect weapons and learn spells while testing their worth.
The game features procedurally generated caverns, a pet companion that can evolve, a simple buy‑sell shop, and Steam integrations such as Trading Cards, Badges, Emoticons and Profile Backgrounds.
01 / THE GUIDE
Procedurally Generated Levels
Each playthrough creates new caverns, dungeons, mines and tunnels, so the layout never repeats exactly. This design encourages players to explore without relying on memorised routes.
Because layouts are generated on the fly, enemy placement and loot locations vary each session, requiring on‑the‑spot adaptation.
- Take a moment to scan each new room for exits before engaging enemies.
- Note any recurring visual cues that may hint at hidden passages.
02 / THE GUIDE
Pet Companion
Players may select either a dog or a cat as a companion that travels with them through the dungeon. The pet appears alongside the player during exploration and combat.
The description notes that the pet can evolve into more powerful creatures, indicating visual growth as the game progresses.
- Observe the pet’s appearance after each run to recognise evolution stages.
- Try both animal types to see which visual style you prefer.

Shop Economy
An in‑game shop lets players buy and sell items, providing a basic economic loop. Interaction with the shopkeeper determines which gear can be acquired or off‑loaded.
The ability to trade items creates a decision point for inventory management, as players must choose what to keep and what to exchange.
- Compare the cost of similar items before purchasing.
- Sell items you no longer need to free inventory space.

Steam Collectibles
FATE adds new Steam Trading Cards, Badges, Emoticons and Profile Backgrounds featuring original artwork. These items are intended for fans who enjoy extra collectables.
Badges have six levels, allowing players to display progress on their Steam profile as they collect more cards.
- Collect cards during regular play to work toward higher badge levels.
- Use emoticons in chat to signal familiarity with the game.

Single‑Player and Achievements
The game is a single‑player experience that supports Steam Achievements, letting players track milestones such as defeating enemies or completing dungeons.
Steam Cloud is enabled, preserving progress across sessions, and the game also appears on Steam Leaderboards for comparative scoring.
- Review the achievement list to set personal goals.
- Confirm Cloud sync is active before switching computers.
