About FATAL FRAME / PROJECT ZERO: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse
FATAL FRAME / PROJECT ZERO: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse brings the fourth entry of the series to modern Windows PCs with upgraded graphics and added visual tools. The story follows teenage girls who return to Rogetsu Isle after a mysterious festival and use a Camera Obscura to confront hostile spirits while seeking lost memories.
Exploration relies on moonlight, a faint flashlight beam, and the camera’s ability to reveal hidden keys. Players advance by interacting with notes, newspaper clippings, and other items that expose the island’s dark past and drive the narrative forward.
01 / THE GUIDE
Camera Obscura
The Camera Obscura is described as an old camera that can repel vengeful ghosts. By spotting spirits through its viewfinder and taking photographs, players inflict damage and seal away the ghosts’ power, making it a central combat tool.
Beyond combat, the camera also reveals hidden keys that open new areas. This dual function ties directly into the investigation, as the same device that fights spirits also guides progression through the island’s locations.
- Position yourself so the ghost fills the viewfinder before shooting.
- Scan suspicious objects with the camera; hidden keys often appear only through its lens.
