About Evochron Legacy SE
Evochron Legacy SE is a free‑form space‑flight simulation where pilots manage their own spacecraft in a seamless galaxy. Players can pursue combat, trade, mining, exploration, racing, escort, rescue and many other objectives, shaping their reputation and wealth without a fixed storyline.
The game features point‑to‑point jump drives for long‑range travel, Newtonian physics with optional inertial dampening, and a cockpit‑centric interface that minimizes menu layers. A two‑faction system (Alliance or Federation) determines friendly and hostile systems for both single‑player and multiplayer encounters.
01 / THE GUIDE
Seamless Universe and Jump Travel
The universe is described as vast and seamless, allowing pilots to fly anywhere without loading screens or mandatory jumpgates. Point‑to‑point jump drives let ships cover long distances quickly, delivering them to local waypoints that host a variety of objectives.
Planetary descents are possible, enabling landings at city trade stations, mining sites or hidden locations. Nebula clouds and asteroid caves provide natural sensor cover or protection, all within the same continuous space.
- Map jump points to cluster nearby waypoints and reduce travel time between missions.
- Use nebulae or asteroid fields for sensor cover when approaching hostile systems.

Space Combat Controls
Combat puts the pilot in charge of heat, shield, energy and weapon selection across three weapon classes. Targeting includes subsystem targeting, scanning, and both automatic and manual aiming, with 2D and 3D radar modes available.
The Newtonian flight model provides full three‑axis rotation and direction control, while an optional inertial dampening system simplifies handling in space, atmospheres and gravity fields.
- Watch heat and shield gauges during prolonged fights to avoid overload.
- Switch between 2D and 3D radar to locate fast‑moving or hidden targets.

Dynamic Trade and News Console
A news console reports quadrant‑wide events such as commodity price fluctuations, territory shifts, economic or technology level changes, building activity and station attacks. Pilots can use this data to identify high‑demand markets before traveling.
Territory shifts also reveal where allied factions need defense, offering opportunities to earn reputation by protecting or rebuilding stations and cities in contested regions.
- Check the news console before setting a trade route to spot price spikes.
- Assist allied factions during territory losses to boost reputation quickly.

Faction‑Based Multiplayer
When creating a profile, players select either the Alliance (ALC) or Federation (FDN), establishing which systems are friendly and which are hostile. In multiplayer, teammates can share the same faction for cooperative play or oppose each other in PvP battles.
Territory control changes only through ship destruction, meaning combat directly influences a faction’s presence in a region and can shift control values.
- Coordinate with faction teammates to focus attacks on enemy strongholds.
- Target enemy ships in contested systems to shift territory control in your favor.

Input Device Support
Evochron Legacy SE supports keyboard, mouse, gamepad and joystick, with a Global Control System that adapts signals to a unified flight architecture. Up to ten devices can be used simultaneously, enabling advanced HOTAS, rudder or panel configurations.
TrackIR 3D head tracking is compatible, allowing cockpit viewpoint control across six degrees of movement for precise visual orientation during maneuvers.
- Experiment with the Global Control System to find the most comfortable input mix.
- Use TrackIR for precise cockpit viewing when navigating tight asteroid fields.
