About Everdell

Everdell is a digital adaptation of the award‑winning board game where players settle new territories and build thriving cities. Workers gather berries, twigs, resin, pebbles, and cards, which are spent to construct up to fifteen buildings and critters that generate resources, unlock abilities, and score points.

After four seasonal cycles the Winter Moon arrives, ending the game. The player whose city has the highest total point value wins. Play can be solo against AI, in Solo Challenges, or against other founders in online PvP matches.

01 / THE GUIDE

Goal of the Game

The central aim is to finish the fourth season with the highest‑scoring city. Each Construction and Critter card placed in your city contributes points toward that final total, so efficient card placement matters.

Scoring is calculated only after the Winter Moon ends the game, so players must balance early resource gathering with later high‑value card plays to maximize points.

  • Track the point value of each card you play.
  • Consider saving workers for later seasons when high‑cost cards become affordable.

Worker Placement Mechanics

On a turn you may place a worker to collect resources such as berries, twigs, resin, pebbles, or cards. Workers are sent into the valley and remain there until you prepare for the next season.

When the season changes, all workers return, allowing you to reuse them in the following round. The number of workers you have therefore directly influences how quickly you can amass the materials needed for constructions.

  • Gather scarce resources early in a season.
  • Plan your season‑change action before workers become idle.

Playing Cards

You may play a card to add a Construction or Critter to your city, up to a maximum of fifteen cards. Cards can generate resources, open new abilities, and increase your point total.

Combining cards that complement each other's abilities creates synergies that can accelerate your civilization’s growth and improve your final score.

  • Look for cards that both generate resources and score points.
  • Identify combos that let you play multiple cards in a single season.

04 / THE GUIDE

Seasons and Turn Flow

Each turn you choose one of three actions: place a worker, play a card, or prepare for the next season. Preparing ends the current season, returns all workers, and starts the next cycle with altered options.

After four seasonal cycles the Winter Moon returns, ending the match and triggering final scoring based on the cards in your city.

  • Use the season‑change action to reset workers before they sit idle.
  • Count remaining seasons to time high‑value plays.

Multiplayer Options

Everdell offers online PvP matches where you can face other founders. The game supports cross‑platform multiplayer, allowing players on Windows and macOS to compete together.

In addition to online matches, the title includes AI opponents for solo play and Solo Challenges that test specific strategies without needing another human player.

  • Try matches against both AI and human opponents to see different tactics.
  • Use Solo Challenges to practice card combos before entering PvP.
