About EVE Online

EVE Online is a player‑driven massively multiplayer online game set in New Eden, a galaxy of more than 7,000 star systems. Pilots shape the economy, form corporations, and pursue combat, wealth, knowledge, or power, leaving lasting marks on the shared universe.

The game can be played for free as an Alpha clone, while an Omega subscription unlocks every ship and speeds up progression. With over 350 starships and endless module, component, and skin options, each pilot can craft a uniquely personal vessel.

01 / THE GUIDE

Vast Star System Network

New Eden contains over 7,000 star systems, giving pilots a massive arena for exploration, mining, and conflict. The sheer number of systems encourages long‑term planning and discovery across the galaxy.

All activity in these systems is player‑influenced; wars, alliances, and markets evolve based on collective actions, making each system’s story unique and persistent.

  • Map known wormhole connections before venturing deep to avoid getting stranded.
  • Join a corporation early to gain shared intel on system hotspots.

02 / THE GUIDE

Player‑Driven Economy

Resources such as ore, manufactured goods, and ships are generated and traded entirely by players, creating a living market that reacts to supply and demand.

Corporations can specialize in mining, manufacturing, or trade, allowing members to focus on preferred activities while contributing to a shared wealth pool.

  • Monitor market trends to buy low and sell high.
  • Diversify resource extraction to mitigate price fluctuations.

Extensive Ship Customization

Pilots may fly any of over 350 starships, each modifiable with a wide range of modules, components, and skins, enabling performance and aesthetic tailoring.

Skins provide visual uniqueness without affecting gameplay, allowing personal expression while keeping combat balance consistent across fleets.

  • Test module setups in low‑risk areas before committing to combat.
  • Use skins to personalize your ship without impacting performance.

04 / THE GUIDE

Large‑Scale PvP and Fleet Battles

Combat is entirely player‑controlled, ranging from small skirmishes to Guinness‑record‑setting fleet engagements that are remembered as part of the game’s history.

Both solo soldiers of fortune and organized corporations can participate, offering multiple entry points into PvP content.

  • Communicate clear objectives before large engagements.
  • Maintain a balanced fleet composition to handle varied threats.

05 / THE GUIDE

Progression and Access Levels

EVE Online offers a free Alpha clone tier and an Omega subscription that unlocks every ship and speeds up progression, letting players advance at their own pace.

Both tiers share the same universe, so all pilots experience the same evolving narrative and player‑driven events, whether they focus on mining, manufacturing, trading, or mission‑running.

  • Start with mission‑running to learn mechanics before tackling large‑scale industry.
  • Consider Omega if you aim to pilot the most advanced ships quickly.
