About EndlessRain

EndlessRain places four survivors in a storm‑bound shelter for thirty nights. Daytime is a timed period for gathering wood and stone, then constructing walls and turrets; nightfall brings waves of monsters that must be survived.

Each survivor has a fixed role: the Gunner can fire but cannot build, while the Engineer can build, mine, and repair but cannot fire. Cooperation is required because a lone Gunner runs out of ground to stand on and a lone Engineer watches the fortress crumble.

01 / THE GUIDE

Daytime Building

During the daylight timer you and your teammates collect wood and stone, then decide where to place walls and turrets. The Engineer performs all building actions, while the Gunner stays nearby to protect the work area.

Because the day timer is never quite long enough, you must prioritize which structures to erect, whether to add a campfire, or how many turrets you can afford before night arrives.

  • Map out a wall layout that channels monsters toward turret fire.
  • Reserve some material for repairs as well as new defenses.

02 / THE GUIDE

Night Survival

When darkness falls, twenty monster types attack from all directions, each with a distinct behavior—some swarm, some close distance quickly, and some target walls directly.

On certain nights a larger enemy appears, increasing pressure on your defenses and making the Gunner’s firepower essential for keeping the shelter intact.

  • Observe which monster types focus on walls and adjust your turret placement accordingly.
  • Keep an eye on wall integrity so you can repair before a breach occurs.

03 / THE GUIDE

Role Dynamics

The Gunner can shoot but cannot build any walls, while the Engineer can construct, mine, and repair but cannot fire. This split forces each player to rely on the other's strengths.

A single Gunner quickly runs out of ground to stand on, and a single Engineer watches their fortress get chewed through, highlighting why both roles must work together.

  • Position the Gunner to cover the Engineer while walls are being placed.
  • Use the Engineer’s repairs during intense waves to extend wall life.

04 / THE GUIDE

Progression Cards

Each level up grants three cards that provide abilities such as piercing rounds, critical strikes, or multishot. With twenty‑three cards total, no two runs feel identical.

Milestones—reaching day seven, killing three hundred enemies, or defeating three bosses—unlock additional cards, expanding the pool for later runs.

  • Mix and match cards to see which combos handle specific monster types best.
  • Record which cards contribute most to surviving larger nightly enemies.

05 / THE GUIDE

Online Co‑op

EndlessRain supports online co‑op for up to four players via Steam, allowing friends to drop in with a single click. The shared shelter and role split remain the same regardless of player count.

Co‑op play emphasizes coordination because each participant must manage their survivor’s responsibilities while adapting to the evolving night threats.

  • Agree on who will act as Gunner and Engineer before each day begins.
  • Use simple signals or quick messages to indicate when a wall needs repair.
