About Eco

Eco drops you into a fully simulated world where thousands of plants, animals and climate factors interact in real time. Every building, harvest, hunt or mine changes the environment, and those changes can ripple through the ecosystem.

A meteor is set to strike in thirty days, so players must balance technological progress with ecological stewardship. By crafting, trading, drafting laws and voting, communities can develop the tools needed to survive while protecting the planet.

01 / THE GUIDE

Ecosystem Simulation

The game runs a detailed simulation of plants, animals, climate and player actions. Cutting trees or dumping mining waste directly alters habitats, crop health and animal populations, creating cascading effects across the planet.

Players can open in‑game graphs and heat‑maps to search, analyze and present data. These visual tools let you quantify impacts and use the numbers as scientific evidence when proposing environmental legislation.

  • Review heat‑maps after major changes to spot unexpected habitat loss.
  • Use side‑by‑side graphs to compare conditions before and after an action.

02 / THE GUIDE

Government & Laws

Players can establish their own set of laws and governments, which the game enforces automatically once ratified by vote. Proposals may limit clear‑cutting, add tax subsidies for green energy, or set other environmental rules.

Elections let any player run for world leadership, influencing tax rates, resource allocation and other global decisions. The programmable law system supports dynamic, flexible rules that can be changed through community voting.

  • Gather simulation data before drafting a proposal to strengthen its justification.
  • Build alliances with other players before elections to increase support for your platform.

03 / THE GUIDE

Economy & Trade

Eco features a player‑run economy where specialization and trade are essential. Stores, contracts and custom currencies let players buy, sell and hire services asynchronously, creating a dynamic market that mirrors real‑world supply and demand.

Currencies may be fiat or backed by resources, and exchange rates are set at player‑run exchanges. Because all resources originate from the environment, economic prosperity is directly linked to ecological health.

  • Create contracts for tasks you lack the skill points to perform yourself.
  • Monitor resource availability and adjust the backing of your currency accordingly.

04 / THE GUIDE

Skills & Progression

Skill points increase based on the food you consume and the shelter you build. Eating nutritious food and constructing larger homes raise your skill total, which can then be allocated to farming, hunting, engineering, research and more.

Skill points can be spent on skills like farming, hunting, engineering and research, supporting larger economies and more sophisticated environmental management.

  • Prioritize building a spacious home early to boost skill gains.
  • Focus on nutritious food sources to raise skill points faster.

05 / THE GUIDE

Multiplayer & Server Options

Eco offers online multiplayer, local single‑player and dedicated server modes. Online multiplayer, local single-player and dedicated servers all let you build, trade and govern, whether collaborating with others or experimenting alone before inviting friends.

Dedicated servers let hosts run their own Eco worlds, making them a stable option for long‑term community projects.

  • Run a dedicated server for stable, long‑term community projects.
  • Use local single‑player worlds to test laws or economies before scaling.
