About Dwarves: Glory, Death and Loot

Dwarves: Glory, Death and Loot lets you assemble a fully customizable army of up to ten Dwarves. Battles run automatically, so you spend most of your time arranging formations, assigning roles, and equipping each Beardling before the fight begins.

Your run starts with two poorly equipped Dwarves and limited gear. Winning battles grants experience, gold, and new recruits, letting you grow a fragile party into a full‑legion capable of handling increasingly dangerous encounters.

01 / THE GUIDE

Army Building

Each run begins with only two Dwarves and a small pool of equipment. Recruiting new Beardlings and upgrading gear gradually expands the group, giving you more options for later battles.

Every Dwarf can become a distinct party‑member through gear, allowing you to create frontline tanks, melee damage dealers, or fragile but powerful mages. A balanced mix is essential for survival.

  • Prioritize early upgrades that improve frontline durability.
  • Add a mage early to diversify damage sources.

02 / THE GUIDE

Formation Strategy

Before each encounter you choose a formation and position each Dwarf. The right layout can counter specific enemy threats and often decides the outcome before the first blow lands.

Adjust formations to match enemy setups—reinforce the front against heavy assaults or protect mages when the enemy fields many spell‑casters—to improve your chances of winning.

  • Place tanks at the front when facing many melee enemies.
  • Keep mages behind cover to protect them from direct attacks.

03 / THE GUIDE

Post‑Battle Progression

After each battle you decide how to proceed: gain experience, invest gold into better equipment, or recruit new Dwarves. These choices steer your run in different directions.

Permanent upgrades can be unlocked with Gems, letting you strengthen future runs with new playstyles and builds.

  • Save Gems for permanent upgrades that benefit multiple runs.
  • Spend gold on gear that fills current role gaps.

04 / THE GUIDE

Enemy Adaptation

As your party grows, enemies become more numerous and more dangerous. Different enemy configurations demand different answers, such as boosting frontline defenses against heavy pressure.

Learning enemy patterns and adjusting equipment and positions in time is key to surviving tougher encounters.

  • Scout enemy composition before committing to a formation.
  • Swap gear quickly between battles to match new threats.

05 / THE GUIDE

Controller Support

The game offers full controller support, including DualShock and DualSense compatibility, allowing you to manage your army without a keyboard.

Steam features such as Achievements, Leaderboards, and Cloud saves are also available, providing a seamless single‑player experience across sessions.

  • Enable Cloud sync to keep progress across devices.
  • Check Leaderboards to gauge how your runs compare.
