01 / THE GUIDE
Weapons, Spells, and Elemental Merges
Dunjungle provides more than 30 weapons, 40 sub‑weapons, and 100 relics, each with unique effects. Equipment can be merged with elements—fire, ice, thunder, or wind—to create stronger variants that burn, slow, shock, or push foes.
These elemental merges let you tailor combat to your preferred style, whether you favor direct damage or crowd control. The variety encourages experimentation each time you start a new run.
- Try combining a fire‑based weapon with a relic whose unique effect suits your playstyle.
- Mix wind‑based gear with fast‑moving enemies to keep them at bay.

Class Selection
Before each run you can choose from 15 distinct classes, each influencing how you play. Classes have meaningful strengths and weaknesses, shaping your approach to combat and exploration.
Selecting a class that matches your weapon and elemental preferences can streamline early progress, while trying different classes reveals new strategies.
- Pick a class that complements the elemental weapons you plan to use.
- Experiment with a class that has defensive strengths if you prefer slower, methodical runs.

Procedurally Generated Dungeons
Dungeons are built from a large pool of hand‑crafted rooms that are assembled procedurally. Each room may contain odd creatures, traps, treasure, or a boss, ensuring no two runs feel identical.
The blend of handcrafted design and random arrangement keeps exploration fresh while preserving a consistent level of challenge.
- Observe room patterns to anticipate common trap placements.
- Take note of recurring enemy types to adapt your loadout quickly.

Fast Game Loop and Death
There are no checkpoints; death sends you back to the start. However, certain progress—like unlocked weapons, spells, or rescued characters—carries over to future runs.
Each death also reveals more about the world, encouraging players to apply new knowledge on subsequent attempts.
- Focus on unlocking a new weapon early to benefit later runs.
- Rescuing characters can provide helpful allies in future attempts.

Characters and NPCs
Throughout the jungle you may encounter lost, trapped, or idle characters—many of them monkeys. Assisting them can turn them into allies for later runs.
These NPCs add personality to the world and can influence gameplay by offering help once rescued.
- Prioritize freeing characters that appear near high‑risk areas.
- Chat with the characters you rescue—many are monkeys who may lend you a hand.
