About Dungeons 4

Dungeons 4 returns the dark‑humored simulation of building a sprawling underground lair and sending minions to dominate a vibrant Overworld. The sequel expands the previous title with dungeons up to four times larger, new biomes, and an ability‑based perk system for the villainess Thalya.

Players construct traps, recruit diverse creatures, and spread “Evilness” across forests and plains while defending against raiding dwarves, elves and humans. A narrated campaign, several skirmish maps, and 2‑player online co‑op let two players manage the same dungeon together.

01 / THE GUIDE

Dungeon Building

Dungeons can be built to a size up to four times larger than in the predecessor, allowing extensive room placement and trap networks. The layout directly influences how well the dungeon withstands raids from Overworld forces.

Resources such as gold and gems echo in the underworld, attracting dwarves who seek the dungeon’s heart. Securing these resource zones with defenses helps keep the loot from being claimed.

  • Plan choke points early to maximise trap effectiveness.
  • Separate resource storage from entry corridors to deter dwarf incursions.

02 / THE GUIDE

Overworld Conquest

Minions can be sent into the expanded Overworld to spread Evilness, converting lush biomes into dark territories. Defeating Mini‑Bosses such as the Unicorn awards Evilness that fuels further conversion.

Spreading Evilness transforms biomes, altering their visual style as they turn to the dark side. Transforming biomes expands the reach of the Absolute Evil’s influence.

  • Target Mini‑Bosses that grant Evilness for quicker biome conversion.
  • Observe which biomes change fastest to prioritise expansion routes.

Creature Management

A variety of minions—including the Horde, Undead, Demons, and Snots—wait to obey the Absolute Evil’s commands, serving both defensive and offensive roles. Their numbers have increased compared with earlier titles.

Thalya now features an ability‑based perk system that grants her new powers.

  • Mix creature types to cover both attack and defence needs.
  • Experiment with different Thalya perks to discover synergistic effects.

04 / THE GUIDE

Campaign and Skirmish Modes

A long campaign, narrated by the series’ English Narrator, guides players through the story of the Absolute Evil’s return. The narrative is supplemented by several skirmish maps that focus on specific challenges.

All campaign and skirmish maps are playable in 2‑player co‑op, letting two participants share strategic decisions while tackling the same objectives.

  • Use the campaign to learn each creature’s strengths before tackling skirmish maps.
  • Try different skirmish layouts to test specific defensive configurations.

05 / THE GUIDE

Multiplayer Co‑op

2‑player online co‑op lets two players manage a single dungeon together, sharing responsibilities for construction, defence, and Overworld assaults. Both players can access the full set of campaign and skirmish maps.

Full controller support and Steam Cloud are listed as features, providing standard input compatibility and cloud‑based save storage.

  • Discuss role division early—one player can focus on building, another on combat.
  • Use Steam Cloud to keep progress saved between sessions.
