About Dungeon Tycoon: Prologue
Dungeon Tycoon: Prologue is a free‑to‑play simulation where you build and manage a dungeon. You place traps, summon monsters, and arrange treasure to challenge heroes that wander through.
The game includes fourteen playable days, four visitor classes, over ten monsters, thirty‑plus research items, and forty‑plus decorative objects, all saved via Steam Cloud in a single‑player experience.
01 / THE GUIDE
Dungeon Design
You control the layout of every room, corridor, and trap placement. The design determines how heroes travel and which challenges they encounter first.
The game lets you watch visitors as they move through your dungeon, giving visual feedback on traffic patterns and trap effectiveness.
- Place traps where hero traffic is highest to maximize their impact.
- Use the inspection view to spot dead‑ends that may need additional challenge.

Monster Summoning
You can summon and upgrade more than ten distinct monsters, each of which can be positioned to block hero progress toward treasure.
Monsters are drawn from two separate realms, providing thematic variety that can be mixed to create layered defenses.
- Combine monsters with different attack ranges to cover multiple hero paths.
- Upgrade monsters that frequently engage heroes for the greatest defensive gain.

Research System
The research tree contains over thirty items that unlock new ways of improving your dungeon.
Completing research contributes to overall progression through the Prologue content and can unlock additional gameplay features.
- Prioritize research that adds new trap types for immediate defensive upgrades.
- Track which research unlocks decorative items if visual customization is a goal.

Decorative Items
A selection of more than forty objects and cosmetic items lets you enhance the visual style of each dungeon area.
While primarily aesthetic, these items can be used to highlight important zones or to give the dungeon a distinct theme.
- Place decorative pieces near key traps to draw hero attention.
- Mix visual themes to keep the dungeon feeling fresh across the fourteen days.

Visitor Interaction
Four unique visitor classes, each with distinct skills, explore your dungeon; you can watch their progress and adjust designs accordingly.
You may sell potions and other aids to visitors, providing an additional interaction layer while gathering data on their performance.
- Observe which visitor class struggles most and adapt trap placement for balance.
- Offer potions selectively to test how assistance changes hero behavior.
