About Dungeon Settlers
Dungeon Settlers blends dark‑fantasy strategy with colony simulation. As a Guild‑sent leader you must build a settlement on barren, magically eroded land, then lead expeditions into a dangerous dungeon that spawns calamities. The game emphasizes careful planning of rooms, resources, and research while preparing a party of up to four members.
Combat unfolds in real‑time with pause, letting you analyse enemy traits and apply effects such as stun, bleed, or summons. Death is permanent, so every decision—from equipment to skill synergy—carries weight. Randomly generated floors, environmental effects, and rare resources deepen the challenge.
01 / THE GUIDE
Settlement Building
You design rooms freely by placing walls and doors, creating bedrooms, dining areas, and a forge with anvils and smelters. Fields can be cultivated to grow crops, supporting your settlers.
Research unlocks new buildings and equipment, expanding your settlement’s capabilities. Efficient resource management is essential for survival and for producing rations and camping supplies needed for the next expedition.
- Place food‑production rooms near storage to reduce travel time.
- Prioritise research that adds essential structures early.
02 / THE GUIDE
Expedition Party
Recruit candidates with varied races, backgrounds, and personalities, each possessing six major abilities, talents, and dozens of stats. Level them up to improve combat and life‑related performance.
Form a four‑member party, mixing skill trees such as sword, mace, bow, or fire magic. Synergy between members’ abilities and equipment is key to overcoming tough encounters.
- Balance melee and ranged abilities for flexible tactics.
- Match equipment to each member’s strongest skill tree.

Real‑Time Pause Combat
Combat runs in real time but can be paused at any moment, allowing you to plan tactics without turn limits. Use effects like stun, bleed, burn, provoke, vulnerable, charge attacks, and summons.
Position your party wisely, exploit enemy weaknesses, and time skills precisely. Even seemingly hopeless battles can be won with the right strategic pause and execution.
- Pause before major enemy abilities to pre‑empt them.
- Focus on applying status effects that match enemy vulnerabilities.

Dungeon Exploration
Each expedition’s dungeon is randomly composed; floors and rooms change each time, and regions add random environmental effects. Deeper levels yield rarer resources but also stronger threats.
You’ll encounter magical experiment remnants such as towering golems or acid‑spitting monsters, and trade with dungeon merchants. Some ancient trees demand blood for forbidden fruit, adding risk‑reward decisions.
- Scout ahead to identify environmental hazards early.
- Weigh the value of rare resources against the increased enemy difficulty.
05 / THE GUIDE
Resource Management
Gather wood logs, herbs, gemstone veins, and mandrake during expeditions. These materials feed settlement production, research, and equipment crafting.
Trade with dungeon merchants to acquire needed items, and manage rations and camping supplies to keep your party ready for the next foray into the dungeon.
- Stockpile essential herbs for consistent potion production.
- Balance mining activities with food gathering to avoid shortages.
