01 / THE GUIDE
Progression System
Advancing floors requires locating a door and using a key, as described in the feature list. A single wrong decision can end the run, so each card choice directly influences survival.
Each floor presents new cards and objects that can be combined, and the system resets when you die, ensuring that every new attempt feels distinct while using the same core mechanics.
- Observe which card combinations helped you survive earlier floors and consider keeping similar options for later challenges.
- When you find a key, pause to evaluate the surrounding cards before opening the door.

Hero Variety
Six heroes can be unlocked, each providing a unique passive ability and a spell that changes how you approach the deck. This gives players multiple tactical angles across different runs.
Because each hero’s abilities differ, the same set of cards may feel stronger or weaker depending on the chosen hero, encouraging experimentation without altering the underlying rules.
- Try a hero with defensive passives if early encounters feel overwhelming.
- Swap heroes between runs to see which spell synergizes best with your preferred card style.

Boss Challenges
The game includes more than ten unique bosses, each described as requiring a special approach. Boss fights test the cards and objects you have gathered on the current floor.
Because each boss demands a different strategy, players must adapt their deck and consider the hero’s abilities to survive the encounter.
- Take note of a boss’s attack pattern during the first attempt; it can guide your card selection for the next try.
- Balance offensive and defensive cards to give yourself flexibility during longer boss phases.

Controller Support
Dungeon Raid: Zero Floor is fully compatible with all gamepads, including DualShock, DualSense, and the Steam Deck, allowing you to navigate menus, select cards, and manage inventory via a controller.
In addition to controller compatibility, the game offers mouse‑only and touch‑only options, so players can choose the input method that feels most comfortable.
- If you have a gamepad, try using it for card selection to see if the tactile feedback improves decision speed.
- Switch between mouse and controller to compare which feels more precise for navigating the card deck.

Difficulty Adjustments
When the challenge feels high, the game allows the use of card upgrades to make a playthrough easier. The game lets you use card upgrades to make your playthrough an easier experience.
These upgrades are optional, letting players tailor the challenge without changing the core roguelike structure.
- Apply an upgrade early if you find early‑floor enemies overwhelming.
- Reserve a stronger upgrade for later floors where enemy difficulty typically spikes.
